Correa is project to move into the Manny, Trout, Harper, Bryant area and is expected to carry a team more.

I think we all agree with this - only exception I take to that is putting Bryant in that same list as the other guys? What has he done specifically that Correa has not? I would say Correa and Bryant are expected to move into that super-star type role. They aren't there yet. I also believe most baseball fans will agree that the AL West is a Texas/Houston race followed closely by everyone else. No team will run off with the division.

I think the differing opinions come up when one fan alludes to expected regression of the AL Rookie of the year because "they develop a scouting report on him", yet another 2nd year player is expected to be a "tremendous weapon". Absolutely no logic there what so ever. Both teams have solid line ups with some significant question marks. Can the Astros overcome the high K rates? Can the Rangers overcome the injury bug? Plenty of other concerns for both teams. Ranger's have a better Starting Rotation on paper. Astros have a better bullpen on paper.

Right now, I have the Astros winning 89 games this year. Not sure if that's enough to make the playoffs. Not sure if that's more than what the Rangers will win. But I will revise my prediction as Spring Training progresses.

I'm ready for baseball.

But the term 1a and 1b when comparing two things means they are interchangeable.

Well mate, A comes before B, therefore I think a little higher of Correa, but Odor is right there.

think most would agree that stat line for Correa would be a major disappointment

Just depends on where he(Odor) hits. RBI and runs are dependent on his teammates hitting him in and being on base. I think his slash line will be close to Correa. I dont exactly think he'll(Correa) continue to hit HR every 17 ABs either, but I guess he could.

If Correa is the best young hitter in the division, Odor is 1B.

You are close to something here. Odor as much as I hate the Rangers is a very young dynamic hitter. He's a baller....he reminds me of len Dykstra before the roids.

Yu will be on pitch counts and probably IP limits this season, imo.

This is the only thing I may disagree with.

It's going to be interesting with what we do with Yu. I think most assume that once his contract with Texas is up that he's gone. We don't spend big on pitching, never have really. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we used him as much as we can once he's been 100 percent cleared, this year and next. There's no reason to not wear his freaking arm out if he isn't going to be doing it for us in the future. Someone else can take his shot arm once we're done with it. If we're in a playoff race he isn't going to want to get off the mound either, because his performances in the post-season and late in the regular season are what's going to get him paid.

However, if we are planning on signing him we'll do the opposite, I just don't think there's anyway we spend more than $120 mil on a pitcher.

Maybe so. If they think he is unsignable in two seasons, they may push him more aggressively. It'll be interesting to see how they play it. On the same topic in the DAT thread I asked, if the Rangers apply a pre-determined inning cap to Yu for the season, will they stick to it in September if he is approaching it in the middle of a divisional title race (assuming the West standings are close going into the last few weeks similar to last season)? Or do they do something like start skipping some of his starts late in the season to prolongue him? Will be interesting to see.

Yup. I'm not a fan of the innings cap, especially if you're in a division race and playoffs. It NEVER works. Don't take it for granted and use who you have. No pitcher is going to be happy that they have to sit out a playoff game.

Regardless, i'm happy Houston is where it's at. It's going to be an exciting season.

Going to go ahead and apologize for any troll jobs I do later this season hahah.

It's an even year so the Giants will find a way to win it all again this year.
