So 1 game above .500 and only 1.5 games back.

Lets see if they can keep pace.

In predicting a lights out from Price against the Brovos tonight!

If Porcello can somehow keep this up then they can finsh over .500 Esp if E Rod comes back strong. Kimbrel has blown 2 or 3 saves so far and that wont be the norm. I think S Wright has been. A bright spot so far w Porcello. When Price gets right w E Rod and Porcello anything from Mr. Inconsistency C. Buch is a bonus. Bullpen has been already taxed early on. T Shaw has been a welcome hopefully Pablo can stay his fat arse on the dl

Price 14/Ks!

Recap

quote:

ATLANTA -- David Price matched a career-high 14 strikeouts and tossed eight strong innings with the benefit of the early lead Travis Shaw provided when he highlighted a five-RBI game with a three-run, first-inning homer in Tuesday night's 11-4 win over the Braves at Turner Field.

Price struck out each of the final five batters he faced and recorded eight of his final nine outs via strikeout.

The former American League Cy Young Award winner surrendered three consecutive singles and issued a walk with two outs in the first inning before escaping a bases-loaded threat by striking out Drew Stubbs.

They will be in the hunt. There is no drama with Sandoval, he is legitimately hurt, and it's a bad contract, they can absorb it, besides the fact that he owned the fact that he wasn't performing and was not making trouble. Travis Shaw is very capable replacement at third base.

The Lineup is well constructed, nice mix of youth and experience, and have a capable front office that is committed to eat the Panda contract and make a deal(s) to win in Papi's last season. I am not a believer in the O's yet, and I believe despite the strong heart of the order the Jays run out there, they will find a way to not be as successful as they should. I do not fear NYY this year, but TB will make trouble for the rest of the division.

Red Sox have serious rotation issues. But the lineup is solid and they do have a couple of nice young players good blend as you said. Division is mediocre....Toronto took off in the second half last year but I've seen teams like that failed the next. They have a conservative GM who did nothing to improve the team over the winter and that's not good. I do have two really good young arms in rotation. Yankees look like the last place team. Rays really should be decent with the pitching.

It's weird to say this but going into last night Porcello/Wright have a ERA of 2.60 while the rest of the starters (Price, Buchholz, Kelly) had an ERA of 7.20.

Early season baseball for you. Price will pitched well last night and will get into his groove. His ERA in the first month of the season is one run higher than the ERA for the rest of the season.

ERod coming back will be a boost, I guess he gets Kelly's spot with the way Porcello and Wright have been pitching.

Bullpen is solid with Tazawa, Uehara, and Kimbrel. Not sure if I am sold on anyone outside of those 3. Although I think Hembree and Barnes can help provide some depth.

Other than Price, their pitching has been garbage.

Have you even watched them this year? Porcello and Wright have pitched well

I know its the Braves but S Wright with another strong performance. Cant wait to see how Carson Smith helps out the bullpen. Im guessing Henry gets one more start before E Rod sends him back down. Really thought by now Owens would be in the rotation but his fastball command is shite pkus his fastball sits around 87 thought he would be in the low 90's by now
