This is where I think he ends up. Biggest rival to the school he loves. Very Bo of him

If Bob Stoops becomes available, can Auburn have him?

Tom Herman just bought a $1.5m home in bellaire. He loves Houston and if Houston moves to the big 12 he gets a $2.5m bonus added to his annual salary making him one of the highest paid coaches on earth. No offense but Houston is the 4th biggest city in the country if they go to the big 12 they will have way more recruits than Ou. Texas is a hot bed of talent Oklahoma can't replicate and not being the sec Houston will have an easier path to the playoffs every year. The guy just landed a 5 star recruit after ward to play qb and I'm sure Kyle Allen will be a stud with a coach like Herman and not sumlin. Herman is not going anywhere it's way more fun to build a crappy program into a contender like uh than deal with unrealistic fan bases like Oklahoma and lsu that think they should be undefeated every year and win the national title. He's a God in Houston already he is not leaving.

Too bad you can't re-sell homes in the fourth biggest bestest mega city ever.

How many coaches stayed with their little shite program they built up? Gary Patterson and....?

No, he gets a 2.5 bonus for two years. It's not part of his ongoing salary after that. That's why it's called a bonus. And it's not even close to a done deal that Houston is moving to be Big 12

I agree, why can't he just stay and turn Houston into a power? Big city in a BIG state that pumps out football talent! If they can keep up with the money, why not! If he leaves and comes to LSU and soon as he goes 10-2 they'll wanna hang his arse from the Miss River Bridge!

Maybe amongst the UH fans. 95% of the city doesn't give a shite about UH though. He will eventually leave even if UH moves to the big 12.

He could do that. But he's most likely going to have some of the top programs in the country begging and wanting to give him the world. He may fall in love and decide to jump one more time.

The thought of taking over LSU, for example, could be too good not to take. A top program and top job with one of the best talent pools in the country could be something it is impossible to say no to.

I think there is a good chance Herman stays but to think he really is loyal is kinda of a joke to me. These guys are mercenaries until they find the right one. They will leave for a better job as quick as they'd get fired for poor performance. (Obviously Houston wouldn't fire him)

This. Dabigfella doesn't know what he's talking about.

This
When has either of those schools had the pick of the litter of coaches? When has any school? Yes, LSU and Alabama secured Saban, but in between you had Shula and Dinardo. Stoops was a top assistant, but an assistant he was. The guy wins 10 games a year. Unless you are Ohio State and Alabama, that's good performance, and once or twice a decade things will break right and you'll play for a NC.

Heck no.

He's a better version of Kirk Ferentz and the administration here loves him. He'd have to have some really rough years to get the boot.

OU's problem is they just aren't getting elite defenders to come to Norman anymore (Tommie Harris, Dvoracek, Roy Williams, etc). Gerald McCoy is the only recent defensive beast I can recall. Those 2000-2004 teams had insanely good defenses. Those days are gone.

people who call for Stoops job dont know his situation. he aint going anywhere.

someone called into XM national show yesterday and asked about that and they had a guy from OU on. he said Stoops is very close with president and AD and he CAN retire a Sooner if he wants to. he is beloved there and brought them back from the dumps and won a title.

he has still dominated the Big 12 and has a good record against Texas. That right there will keep him there for as long as he wants. if he ever leaves, it will be on his terms, not OUs.
