Will my beloved Gamecocks be the highest ranked team to not get a BCS bid?

I'm not sure if they do another poll next week but with the Ok.St loss I imagine the Gamecocks, who are currently #8 in the AP, will move up to #7. Now regardless of what happens in the SECCG I can't imagine the loser of that game falling any further than #6. So if SC finishes #7 will we be the highest team not to get a BCS bid?

I know the winner of the SECCG / Alabama will get the SECs 2 BCS bowl bids and we will already have to watch a team we beat get 1 bid, UCF, and may have to watch another, Clemson, as we had to do 2 years ago.

I know it sucks, I am mad, and yes, we have no one to blame but ourselves for losing @UT. With that said would we be the highest rated team to not get a BCS bid? I know before the BCSNG was created only 8 teams got a bid so maybe someone at #7 got jumped or something.

Wouldn't this mean that the loser of the SECCG would be the highest that doesn't get one?

yes, life isn't always fair. You'll still be the 3rd or maybe even 4th highest ranked team in your conference.

Georgia was AP #6, Coaches #5 after the SECCG last year.

Your 4th in the SEC. That's the way it goes.
Stupid Sugar Bowl probably will pick Clemson.

I know, that's what I'm saying. We've had "BCS worthy" teams for the last 3 years now, but because of the SEC's depth we haven't been able to get our way in.

A BCS worthy team doesn't lose to Tennessee.
