Who had a better 3 year stretch? Aside from LaDanian who had a better 3 year stretch? And, two super bowl rings to boot

What kind of numbers do you expect for a not very long career?

He's only behind Earl Campbell and Eric Dickerson for the most rushing yards in first 4 seasons.

both were absolutely incredible over a 3 year stretch. I know who both 1 and 2 are so I won't say but #1 had 2000 yards rushing in a season, a regular season MVP, and a Superbowl MVP which are three prestigious things that #2 doesn't have while #2 is one of only 2 running backs to go over 2000 scrimmage yards in 3 straight seasons which is damn impressive in itself.

Gale Sayers didn't have a very long career either. He's in the hall. With rb's it seems that it can often be about impact while in the league. By the nature of their position they don't have a long shelf life generally.

Gayle Sayers was amazing though on his own dancing make people miss running.

TD was a one-cut back in the Broncos' system - where they didn't have that much fall-off after he retired.

Clinton Portis, Mike Anderson...hell even Olandis Gary got over 1,000 yards.

Priest holmes is underrated and unfairly forgotten. I guess that the offensive line and playing for teams that didn't accomplish much probably takes some attention away.

While I completely get your point and what not, you should also note that Davis put those #s up over a 7 year, 78game career. Holmes had a 10year, 113game career.

Terrell Davis is 3rd all time in rushing yards per game for a career with 97.5ypg, behind Barry Sanders and Jim Brown. That's it. And ahead of Eric Dickerson, Walter Payton, OJ Simpson, Earl Campbell, Emmitt Smith, AP, etc.

He played in 8 playoff games, rushing over 100yards in 7 of the 8. And that ties him with Emmitt Smith for most 100yard games in playoffs. And he had a 5.6ypc in the playoffs, the highest ypc in the playoffs in the history of the NFL.

A great RB and was even better when it mattered the most, in the playoffs.
