Do you think there's an objective way to justify Ohio State's inclusion in the playoff?

Can you prove it wasn't?

Yes all of the factors that have been detailed to us for the last 18 playoff shows have went through every facet to produce the ranking. Not one word has been uttered regarding the committee trying to produce a good television show for ESPN

No, if you can't prove it wasn't used then the possibility is there. Nobody will ever know for sure unless one of the committee members slips up and tells us. In every sport and everything ESPN does is to maximize ratings, to think this is any different is just naive.

They also factored in the color of jerseys. Red is many of the members favorite color. Try to prove me wrong!

I prefer our road threads anyway.

Washington played a pathetic OOC schedule.
The game at Oklahoma cancelled out the neutral site title game vs Colorado.
Ohio State then has three top 10 wins to Washington's one.
Ohio State has better advanced metrics, better RPI, better computer rankings, better overall schedule, etc.
It's not that hard to justify if you look at it objectively.
I'd agree to an extent, but then why did the committee overvalue Clemson's conference championship game win? Ohio State had all that last week, but Clemson somehow jumped them because of a win against a team in the twenties by a single score? It doesn't make any sense.
Again, whether Clemson is 2 and Ohio State is 3 or the other way around makes zero difference, but it appears the committee jumped Clemson above Ohio State to show that we do value conference championship games but kept Ohio State above Washington because they wanted Ohio State to be the safe team and Washington to be the one who was the last in as opposed to picking Ohio State last over the team it lost to.

OSU and Clemson were probably already close last week and a conference champion got the nod. Washington and OSU weren't close at all so even the conference title for the huskies didn't push them over OSU

The committee was so impressed with Ohio State's 1-point win over a 3-9 Michigan State team they completely ignored Washington's blowout win over a Top 10 Colorado.

Yea but they didn't ignore their last game like you just did ending their season with a win over the #3 team in the country.

The committee made it clear that conference titles and head to head results are important when the body of work for two teams is very similar. The Conference title for Clemson moved them above Ohio State.
Washington and Ohio State had the same record, but OSU had a significantly better schedule both in conference and out. Hence, the Conference title wasn't needed as a tiebreaker. The same reason why Washington got in over Penn State.
I think the line between Penn State and Washington was pretty thin.

I still think the committee got it wrong, I think Hocutt knows it and the backlash might be ugly later on.
That being said, I will watch the 3 games, enjoy the 3 games, and hope that guys I worked with and know win their games.

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Washington
4. Ohio St
I would have preferred that order as well because Bama would have to play the 2 teams that have the best chance of beating them.
Although I do like Peterson having a month to game plan for Bama. I bet Nick watches the BSU OU Fiesta bowl several times.

I live in Boise. He can just set up a lawn chair in the Walmart electronics section up here. They loop that shite on the TVs 24/7.

I'm not bullshitting either.
It's hilarious. They play the radio call of the Statue of Liberty play on the local sports station at least 5 times a day too.

The Airport in Columbus used to have a Buckeye Store that had a huge TV in the window playing the 2002 NC Game vs Miami on a loop 24-7 so we don't have much room to talk.
