It's cool and all if you are an app st fan but whoever does the scheduling for Miami should be fired.

If this game was at Miami there would be about 2,000 people there

There's probably some other sports and schools involved.

One year K State played Auburn in football, cancelling a game with SMS so to help Auburn agreed to play a road basketball game at SMS to help make up money lost.

They probably paid a premium to let the world know "we're FBS now"

They didn't draw when they were dominant.

Because App State has a great athletic director for a small school. Apparently he made a bunch of cold calls to the athletic offices of P5 teams looking for home and homes. Miami made a deal. Fire Scott Farmer.

I'm guessing Miami is using this as a recruiting thing... showcasing the school to the people in another state.

Hope Miami doesn't get skanked.

If that's true that's awesome. That's the kind of ad I would want at a small school. Good for him. App fans should be proud.

We started calling schools that were close in proximity, east of the Mississippi just to see if anybody would be interested in some type of arrangement,” Gillin said. “It just so happened Miami needed a game in (2016). We had an FCS opponent plugged in (for Saturday), and we weren’t even necessarily looking for 2016. But we knew Miami would be willing to play us and we moved the FCS game and got it all figured out.”

Wake Forest is coming to Boone next season, and Gillin said he’s had extensive conversations with two other Power Five schools who are interested in playing there. He might want to get those deals done quickly.

It's interesting for sure. They've been living off that Michigan win for years now. Excuse my ignorance, but are they in the same division as North Dakota State? Have they played each other?

No. They moved up to FBS and are a part of the Sun Belt Conference.

Meanwhile Scott Farmer is sitting waiting for his phone to ring.

He has actually used the term "waiting for that phone call" in regards to conference realignment.

Look it up, in the 1980s their average attendance was 47,000 per game...this is when they were winning titles.

I think it's cool to do that, and you get to play a game on the road you should win, and recruit in another state. Brilliant to me.

They are beating them pretty handily now, but Miami was only a 4 or 5 point favorite.
