I can accept Kaep not getting the boot

But this ugly skank is representing the United fricking States of America

And she is is sympathizing with an idea that this is an inherently unjust oppressive country.

The governing body needs to grow some balls

I just can't care. Not meaning that as in this is a dumb thread. Just that I can't muster the ability to give a frick about her.

So did she kneel for the US anthem then stand for Thailands?

If Rapinoe is so offended by the National Anthem then why does she continue to represent the US by being on the team? Shouldn't her moral compass have told her to take a hike a long time ago? Maybe it has something to do with the checks she cashes every month.

Wouldn't that be like, the antithesis of American values to kick someone off the team for not pledging allegiance to the flag?

fricking country was started because a few brave souls said frick the crown (flag) and we're doing our own thing from now on.

Lobbying that anyone who doesn't bow down to the symbol of our government must be punished is just more evidence of the pussification of america

Yeah, it's different when you represent the USA.

Should not be tolerated IMO.

I hear you, but that doesn't sound very American to kick her off for "protesting."

I applaud Megan Rapinoe's courage to stand up to social injustice.

Do you understand the concept of loving something that is flawed and wanting to improve it? Nah, just black and white for you.

Yes, but they did so from another area of the world....
If Rapinoe and Kaep wanna sail off to some other land and rebel against our country, have at it....
But dont do it at your job representing the very country your protesting stupid biotch

Right, so why is she playing? Why doesn't she protest representing the US until "social injustices" are corrected?

yeah that's fine and all, but if you were REALLY into standing up for this, maybe choose to not play for the country? Perhaps that would actually make a statement by giving something up?

Why stand unless we live in a utopia right?

There is an endless list of things you can protest. I'd ask why he hasn't been protesting for PTSD vets who commit suicide. Are their lives not important enough for him? The entire protest is illogical. Protesting some nameless, faceless thing with a symbolic gesture will do absolutely nothing, and in fact, make things worse.

Good protests have a tangible goal that can be measured. Laws, policies, etc. etc.

He said he is doing this to raise awareness....was there anyone in America who was unfamiliar with racism or police?

Well that would put actual stakes in the game. This way she gets all of the attention without actually doing anything of merit.

That's the dumbest thing about all of this; she and other athletes only seemed to find their moral compass after they saw what a backup QB did. How brave and courageous.

I'm fairly confident she would've stood for the anthem had the national team won the gold medal as expected at the Olympics.

What to me that was somewhat puzzling was when Everett asked her what her end game was or when the "protest" were going to stop. Her response was "I don't know" and "I have to talk to my family as I have not been home to discuss this."

I just am not sure she knows exactly what she is protesting for yet.
