You're right, I'm just covering my bases for the older posters who get upset when you say a recent guy is "the best."
People can hate on Mathieu for his frick ups and mediocre coverage skills, but the guy changed momentum and made plays unlike any other guy I've seen at LSU. He had a greater direct affect on the game than PP7, Dorsey, James, etc.
ETA: And while everyone has to be accountable for his or her behavior, the majority of us don't come from the same environment as TM7. It's a lot easier to do right when you live in the burbs and go to private school with a dad who isn't in jail, FWIW. People need a little perspective on what some inner city kids see on a daily basis.

Getting suspended for a game and getting kicked off the team for drugs is wasting talent IMO.

and his coverage wasnt mediocre. He wasn't Claiborne, but he can cover.
The dude is a complete tard who will probably throw away his nfl career really soon by hanging with nothings from his old neighborhood. But he was the best LSU player ever when he played, period. I will remember him way more fondly than guys who came back this year knowing they were headed to the nfl after the year so they played like wusses trying not to get injured. Reid, Simon, Mingo, Wing to name a few.

While he was at LSU he didn't waste anything. Are you saying he didn't play 100%, bc that's what wasting implies.
He wasted the privilege to represent his school and receive a free education by breaking school and team rules. The off field stuff does matter.
We had four guys just waste their talent and opportunity via a felony. It doesn't matter what they did on the field because they pissed their opportunity down the drain.
TM7 has a chance to succeed, however he was already dealing with issues relative to his scouting report. He is undersized and not great in coverage. Adding the dreaded "character concerns" to this isn't a good thing.
This isn't shitting on LSU fans. It was really TM7 shitting on himself. He dug himself a hole. It will be interesting to see if he can climb out.

He didnt waste 1-2 years of playing time?
He didnt waste a possible hesiman?
He didnt waste the possiblity of a 1st or 2nd round draft pick?
Numerous SEC and all american awards?
Possiblity of SEC and NC?
Possbility of a paid for degree from LSU?

You just want to shite on other LSU fans.
WHat?
I suppose when that's all you have left, it's as good as anything to post.

These kids don't care about their crappy communications degree from an SEC school. If he played at vandy then I'd understand. He played well enough to sit out an entire year and still be drafted despite being really small. He kills the 40, he goes 3rd round. If he has average workouts, he goes 4th so I wouldn't say he wasted anything in regards to LSU

Bottom line he left too much on the table at LSU and let a lot of people down to break rules and go smoke dope...

In college, but not in the pros. He's too small and takes too many gambles to ever be more than average in coverage in the league. He's proved people wrong so far though, so who knows.
TM7 isn't the gangbanger some want to portray him as, but he does lack self control. The only person that can stop him from smoking reefer is him, so hopefully he grows up.

He covered the 3rd best reciever or TE in college. We will see but I think he will be abused by NFL wr's. I only see him as a Polamalu type. Will he be able to endure the physical play that it takes to be that type of player?

If the NFL doesn't work out, then he'll also have no degree.
He went from a Heisman finalist to a guy that GMs are worried about with regard to size, coverage, character, and work ethic.
He also wasted two years of playing time by getting booted from the team.
You're now seeing way too many articles like this. He wasted a lot at LSU and in his life in general.

He had more reps than Te'o at the combine.
Posted on 2/26/13 at 9:04 am to Chair
I don't. He had the world by the balls after 2011, yet continued to find ways to piss it away. I would like to see him get his act together and succeed.

um he's 5'9 170ish pounds.. 4 x's at 225
um yeah keep worrying over measurables.. i will take on field production all day. watch his film or highlights. here LINK
as a true sophomore
the worst thing he did was do fake weed.. which at most schools wouldn't of even got him kicked off..
edit - he's in the 180s.. so sorry

Sounds like Aaron Glenn. Best cornerback in the 90s not named Deion sanders. He's going to the HOF and he was 5'9.

Tigerlee is racist, homophobic, unsophisticated, and pretty ignorant to the world outside of whatever small town shithole he lives in. I'm fairly sure he didn't even go to LSU, but I've been wrong before.

Ahmad Black in 2011 was 5'9" 184 and got it up 19 times
Niles Brinkley in 2011 was 5'9" 193 and managed 15
Kendric Burney 5'9" 186 and 14 reps
Brandon Harris 5'9" 191 and 13
Need I continue?

So now I can label you pretentious as well as dumb and an enabler.
Congrats.
