I watched 'Thunder and Lightning' for the first time last night and honestly didn't know he was even from Louisiana. The first thing that popped into my mind is why he wasn't a Tiger?

Was college baseball at LSU not high profile then, or what was the reason he ended up at MSU?

I believe he went to state prior to bertman getting to LSU. Bertman started here in 84 and I think Clark went there in 82 or 83?. So yea baseball had not really taken off yet.

State was a great program there under Ron Polk at the time

Will Clark is the most redneck graduate in Jesuit history

No, LSU baseball exploded in the 90's , Clark was in the early 80's.

That's what I figured, I was born in 1990 so wasn't sure. Thanks for the clarification.

Never admit these kind of things. No one will ever take your NBA opinions seriously again.

ETA: I said NBA, but you can substitute any sport. I was just making a joke about people on here who disregard any opinion about great players post 1995.

Bingo....LSU baseball then is what it is pretty much everywhere else now. I think State back then definitely had more appeal for baseball.

Well he's from NOLA and every LSU fan gets pissed when in-state guys leave so I don't think it's a totally ridiculous question.

The reverse is true, also.

He graduated year before me in 82. I remember the awards dinner and they read the scholarship offers for people and his went on for quite some time.
He's a smart guy and State fit the bill for him.
I would say it worked out pretty well for him.
And there are quite a few othe redneck grads from Jesuit.

I made the cut for the show when they had the picture of the Jesuit team,my brief moment on ESPN and my father made it in as well when they showed the home video of his home run off of Nolan Ryan

So did he live in NO proper because I know he does hunting shows and loves the outdoors? Pretty sure I have heard him say he grew up hunting and fishing.
