Who was the second most popular athlete of the '90s?

My first inclination is that it's between Griffey, Shaq and Mike Tyson. Those were the three most famous and popular athletes after Jordan that I remember. Out of those three, I think Tyson was the most popular. All of his fights were huge events.

Jr Griffey easily.


Tyson went full whack job by the mid 90s and he didn't appeal to kids like Griffey and Shaq did...plus 9 yr old aren't staying up until midnight and going to parties or bars to watch Tyson's fights like adults.
