I wore 21 in HS because of Clemente. I don't really have a sports idol though. Johnny U. was probably my idol as a kid.

Magic
You tuned in to watch Magic.
You started a fantasy team with Magic.
Your all-time top 5 was with Magic.
If you wanted to start a team from scratch...you began with Magic.
Center, forward, point guard...Magic.
If you asked Larry Bird, who he would start his all-time team with...it would be Magic.
Selling tickets, TV, personality, Magic is the #1 draft pick TV sportsman of all-tome
Jordan, Lebron, Kobe...sniffing shite...old grass grown horse poop...sniffing their shite....pretending to own other positions but never coming through.
Frauds.
Not Magic.

Basketball - My first choice would be Pistol Pete, but since I never got to see him play, but only get to watch in clips, I choose Magic Johnson. I agree with the earlier post...If I could choose anyone in their prime to start a team, Magic would be the first one to pick.
Football - Bo Jackson - He didn't play long, but man he was fun to watch and was amazing. If he would've focused only on football and could've gone without injury, he would be the best running back of all time...even better than Jim Brown.
Baseball - Loved watching the Dodger infield of the late 70s and early 80s. Steve Yeager behind the plate, Steve Garvey at 1st, Davey Lopes at 2nd, Ron Cey at 3rd & Bill Russell at short. And then when you had Fernando Valenzuela on the mound...They were fun to watch!

CFB:Michael Clayton-Physical beast imo and I still think he could have been something special in the NFL.
Ken Dorsey-My all-time favorite college QB.
Rohan Davey-First LSU QB that I gravitated to as a youngest.
