Also, I'm fricking with you. Mom's a Wolverine so i grew up with a hate for y'all and have nothing of substance to contribute to this discussion.
The hate clouds everything up, don't you see
That's no way to live.....that is with Wolverine fandom in your blood.

It's fairly obvious that whoever wins the MSU-tOSU game is going to win the conference. Not sure if that'll be enough to make the playoff, but I think it will be.

Middle of the road Big Ten team that just took Alabama to the wire?
Okay.
Okay.

BG would win the the SEC East
BG > Indiana > Mizzou > SC > Georgia

Alabama played a poor game coming off a tough loss that put a major blow in their national championship hopes. Arkansas was coming off a bye week playing at home and had nothing to lose. Yet because they only lost by one, they are now a legitimate team. No need to consider their three other losses, two of which were by double digits and the other was to an A&M team that doesn't look very good.
This becomes somewhat circular logic because a tough loss to Alabama makes them good. If I then question whether Alabama is near as good as recent years, one could conveniently point to a tough win over Arkansas, who is good because of the tough loss. This one game can then provide a positive quality value for both teams, like a positive feedback loop. The problem is that it discredits the other options (e.g., both negative, one negative and one positive, both neutral, etc),

I'm sure the committee doesn't see the Big Ten in a good light, either.
It's the worst of the Big 5 conferences, and they know that.
The ACC is NOT better then the B1G. I dont know where this thinking comes from? Florida St isnt the entire conference.
USA Today Poll:
B1G:
Michigan St #5
Ohio St #12
Nebraska #16
Minnesota #24
ACC:
Florida St #2
Clemson #20
B1G vs ACC:
B1G 4-1

I actually agree with this.
However, I think Alabama is a good team. Not as good as they were in recent years, no. But they are still physical on the lines and have maybe more weapons on offense than usual.

Disagree with the winner will win the conference. As they play the B1GCG and the winner of that game will play winner of NU Minnesota, both who are 1 loss teams.
But if the B1G wants to be included in the CFBP it will need the winner of the MSU tOSU game to win out.
What I find funny, is every conference this year will cannibalize itself, but the SEC is getting a pass, especially on this site.
MSU got its huge boost by beating an over ranked aTm and LSU team at the time. But the rest of the leagues get punished for same type of things happening.

It's possible.
Ohio State has improved a ton since losing to VaTech, I think JT Barrett wasn't ready yet that was his second start but now he's been ripping it up.
Maryland is a decent team, they took WVU to the wire (who just beat Baylor) and OSU crushed them 52-24. I know A>B doesn't mean A>C but I'm saying OSU has the talent to compete with anyone.
Rutgars going in was 5-1 and I think they end up a decent 8 win team.
If OSU can beat Michigan State on the road, which will be a top 5 team by the time OSU plays them I expect them to be a top 6 team maybe.
Minnesota will probably be a top 25 team if they beat them so that's a good win as well. But I expect them to have a loss by then.
After that it's who knows. OSU will need some help but it's definitely possible
After Braxton went down I thought we would have maybe 1 loss this season. A great setup year for 2015, OSU is one of the youngest teams in the nation and having a freshman QB having a comparable year to Jameis Winston did last year is just setting up a great future.

O I agree about Alabama. I just don't think that playing a poor game, yet still winning, provides much evidence to indicate that Arkansas would be a top team in the Big 10. If Arkansas ends up 4-8 or 5-7 and out of bowl contention then it's hard to make that case. Sure they play a tough schedule, but losing to good teams and beating bad teams and finishing with a losing record does not tell us much more than they are anywhere from below average to slightly above average. Hardly evidence that they would be at the top of any other major conference.

Oh, I think Alabama is good too. They have secondary issues but that certainly doesn't make them bad.
It's the elevation of Arkansas that I find peculiar.

Neither Nebraska nor Minnesota are very good.

And you make this statement based off what?
History? Seeing them play this year? Watching them comeback?
NU has lost 1 game on the road, Minnesota is unbeaten in B1G right now.
What determines if a team is good?
ETA:
The NU offense last weekend was very impressive, they have in my mind the second or third best RB in B1G behind Coleman.

I have been very impressed with Arkansas this year, having watched pretty much all of their games. That's all I can say.
They should have beaten Alabama and aTm. Obviously, they didn't, and that's all that matters. But they are one of the most improved teams in the entire country.
I think they'll pick off LSU and Missouri and make a bowl game. And with the schedule they play, that's a big accomplishment.

We will see how it plays out, but I don't think it's unfair to say that OSU and MSU look like better teams than Minnesota and Northwestern.

They are definitely improved, but some of this is due to regression to the mean. That being said, it's hard to make any qualitative judgement other than that they are improved.

I am not saying that, but the comment I responded to was they said NU and Minnesota arent any good.

I would say it's partly based on name recognition and historical status, which isn't fair to them. At the same time, they've had some close games to subpar teams that could be used as evidence. I still think we don't has enough information yet to say that either team is good/average. Saying they are poor is a stretch though at this point.

OK, maybe I should correct myself. Neither one is as good at tOSU or MSU. I don't see either of them posing a major threat.
