So? Nothing unusual about that. Receivers look away from the ball very often. You really only notice when they drop it.

stanford catch might have been tougher. prothro had his eyes on the ball the whole time, the stanford kid had his head knocked sideways by the cb and didn't even see the ball as it was coming into his hands
You don't really need to see it. If you've caught balls(lol) for the better part of your life, you can tell where a ball will end up if you get to watch most of its path. The catch was an all-timer, but the no look thing is being overblown.

I think the Stanford kid just had the ball miraculously fall in his hands
There might have been some luck involved, but he knew where he needed to put his hands.

Owusu because the UCLA guy was actually trying to break his grip on the ball while the Southern Miss(I think thats who it is) guy was just rolling with the momentum and never really attempted to break Prothro's grip

It should probably be taken into account that when Prothro made his catch, Alabama was down 21-10 and that game was heading to the half. He made the catch with 15 or 20 seconds and it set up a Bama touchdown a play later, and cut the lead to 21-17 at the half.

Owusu made his with a 35-17 lead and made the score 42-17 after the catch.

Regardless, both were great catches.
