Some of y’all are underestimating how hard it is to make the baseball HOF. I don’t see Votto getting in. Altuve has work to do Astros fans. Cold hard facts.

He’s like 4-6 WAR behind Biggio and Roberto Alomar, has more than several older 2B men already in.
This is not true. Altuve’s WAR =49. Biggio WAR=65. Alomar WAR=67.
That’s a huge difference.

One other player that's a lock imo is Kershaw. Also not listed for that reason.

Mike Trout - in
Max Scherzer - in
Nolan Arrenado - almost in
Freddie Freeman - almost in
Bryce Harper - almost in
Mookie Betts - in
Jose Altuve - close to in but stalled
Justin Verlander - in
JT Realmuto - trending but need to maintain a few more years
Ronald Acuna - strongly trending but long way to go
On Arrenado, Freeman and Harper I think all three could probably hang it up at the end of the season and eventually get it,
And will be locks with at least one more solid season.
Altuve needs one more strong season or 2-3 solid years.
Realmuto needs 2-3 more solid years.

Acuna putting up an 8 WAR season, and at 25 has 174 steals. He’s 12th active for steals and everyone above him is 30+ years old.
He’s probably going to push 400 HRs for his career if his power stays consistent into early 30s. He’s going to be considered one of the greatest ever barring injury.

Let's throw Juan Soto in the mix, thoughts?

I can't really see any Astros players that were part of the cheating 2017 season and afterwards get elected to the HOF
I think they end up getting blackballed

Local kid from Park Vista HS:
How about Trea Turner? .300 lifetime avg, will have 250 or so career bombs, 350+ SBs, Batting crown one season, tied for MLB record with 3 career cycles, WS championship
Hope he can turn in a couple more big time seasons and maybe make himself a borderline case.

I misread the columns on BR. 16 WAR is 4 solid seasons. He’s 33

Freddie and Acuna are locks. I wonder if Austin Riley will make it. I doubt it but I wish he would.
Will be interesting to see how fried and striders careers go

Altuve has 23 HR , the 2nd most postseason HR in MLB history. ( Manny, Ramirez, 29.)
that Astros Core has wild postseason numbers
Altuve is 2nd
Spinner 5th
Correa 7th
Bregman 14th
all times postseason HR

Altuve will not get in simply because of the trash can…..

MLB voters are incredibly lame.

Only three current pitchers are in the hall of fame. After Scherzer, Verlander and Kershaw name me another that is a lock or even in

Olson is a sneaky name. Was listening to a podcast covering this topic a month or so ago and he was brought up and the hosts both initially shrugged him off but both were in the “pretty decent chance if he doesn’t fall off a cliff” camp by the end of the discussion. We should theoretically should have 3-5 more years of his peak on an elite team. Crazy durable like Freeman. Should scare 500 homers.

Its a travesty he’s not in yet.
He’ll get in, but it’s ridiculous that he’s had to wait this long

Grienke has a small chance but it is slim.
Cole could get there if he finishes out his contract with the Yankees the same way he has started it. Pinstripes always help.
deGrom would be an interesting case if he could avoid injury. Like Koufax, his abbreviated career has been dominant.
And there's always some pitcher who "figures it out" in his 30s and puts up great stats for longer than anyone expected.
