What an MLB season it's been so far...

I'm curious to know the board's thoughts on HOF chances for the following players. Please feel free to add any others not listed if you think they have a shot.

***

Mike Trout
Max Scherzer
Nolan Arrenado
Freddie Freeman
Bryce Harper
Mookie Betts
Jose Altuve
Justin Verlander
JT Realmuto
Ronald Acuna

Realmuto has quite a bit of work to do to the point where I don’t think he gets in. I think the rest are either in already or will get there

Not going to list every borderline player but an interesting one for me will be Jose Ramirez, unless he just falls off a cliff here shortly. He’s only 31, has likely peaked but is still an incredibly productive player who likely will put up numbers for the next 4 years or so. I think this will leave him right on the borderline, and he’s been in a small market his whole career and hasn’t been on a really good team in a few years too. He seems like a guy that’s going to end up right on that fringe when it’s all said and done

Hall of Fame

Mike Trout
Max Scherzer
Freddie Freeman
Mookie Betts
Justin Verlander

Not HOF

JT Realmuto
Jose Altuve

Acuna is too early to tell. Nolan Arenado and Bryce Harper I can’t quite tell right now.

Not HOF JT Realmuto Jose Altuve

Altuve has 23 HR , the 2nd most postseason HR in MLB history. ( Manny, Ramirez, 29.)

Will come close with another playoff run

Look at Altuve’s WAR compared to other 2B in. Night and day difference. Maybe if he reaches 2,500 hits.

Freeman, Altuve, Harper, Realmulto, and Acuna probably still have some work to do

Acuna will most likely get there though

Think Freeman and Altuve might run out of time and Realmuto and Harper might just have too much work to do

Pretty comfident though in

Trout
Scherzer
Arenado
Mookie
Verlander

Trout - no hardware to show for the status he has, the recent injuries are slowing him down as well, I still think he gets in though
Scherzer - yes
Arrenado - at current pace, yes
Freeman - yes
Harper - yes
Betts - yes
Altuve - yes but will get dinged for cheating scandal, but eventually will get in
Verlander - yes
Realmuto - no
Acuna - assuming no major injuries, yes

Would be pretty shocking if he doesn’t reach 2,500 hits

He’s like 4-6 WAR behind Biggio and Roberto Alomar, has more than several older 2B men already in. He just put up about 3 WAR in half an injury plagued season

The only way he doesn’t get in is if the boner media holds a grudge about the cheating stuff which is possible

Altuve and Freeman both are close to the peak threshold

If either puts up another 6+ WAR season it probably does it

They both might get in regardless though based on name and reputation

I think Freddie is going to hit deep into his 30s. There is a caveat for most of these guys listed about major injury or a huge drop in performance so you have to project some. Both those guys just had fantastic seasons

Miguel Cabrera, Joey Votto, and Zack Greinke have a better shot than a couple on your list.

Cabrera is a stone cold lock and is retiring. I’m guessing that’s why he wasn’t listed

This is 100% guaranteed, so I left him off the list on purpose. I missed Greinke and Votto, however.
