He has already stated that he has not ruled out playing next year. So Which do you think would likely seal his retirement?

A Super Bowl win?
A Super Bowl loss?
An AFC championship game loss?

I think if he wins the Super Bowl, he will most definitely call it a day.

If he wins the Super Bowl he'll for sure retire.

An embarrassing, 3 INT beat down by the Patriots next weekend.

It's only fitting to have Peyton go out with Brady outplaying him in an AFC championship game

Brady has a losing record to Peyton in championship games.

He's going out Montana style, a huge disappointment.

Biggest Peyton fan on the planet here - I pray to God he retires. His body cannot hold up to another year. I hope he understands that. The Broncos are ready to move on with Brock anyway, so starting QB is no sure thing if Manning comes back. I think Elway will help him make the right decision this offseason, especially when he negotiates another $4M (or more) drop in salary.

Because Manning has outplayed Brady on the whole in their 3 AFC championship games, going 2-1 in the process. That includes the greatest come from behind victory in AFC championship game history on the part of Manning.

There is no way he doesn't retire. They have a capable replacement, and at this point would only hurt the team, and I think Peyton is smart enough to know that.

I thought it's been said that if Manning returns next year it won't be with the Broncos?

Elway doesn't want him back (although he'd never say that publicly).

Manning should sign with the Vikings if he comes back. Awesome running game, top 5 scoring defense, and a brand new INDOOR stadium.

Yeah, he'd have to suck up two games at Green Bay and Chicago, but besides that he'd be golden.
