When’s the last time a coach left Notre Dame on his own?

Just shows how the times have changed. 30+ years ago until the beginning of college football this would have been unthinkable for a ND head coach to leave for LSU.

Notre dame isn’t the job it used to be. They’re an ACC school with a bunch of old arse fans.

And they're 11-1. What happens if ND slips into the playoffs?

He didn't leave and go somewhere else right away. Also I think he had some sanction problems and was forced to leave.

Holtz left because he didn't want to take the all time ND wins record from Rockne.

Kelly broke it this year and then bolts

The guy who promised Rudy he'd play him then left to go coach the packers

No he came from the Packers to coach Notre Dame. Then he left to pitch for the Cleveland Indians where he drank Jobu’s rum. This, and the fact that he was a prick to Rudy, caused Jobu to hit him in the head with a bat.

Incorrect. Holtz left because they were under investigation and the school decided to not allow him same breaks for letting kids in

Holtz has left every school he’s been at on probation or sanctions after he left

30 years ago teams weren't offering fully guaranteed $100 million contracts.

Notre Dame has an overinflated sense of itself. They don’t think they should have to pay a coach fair market value. In their demented minds, a coach should just come and work for Notre Dame for peanuts. When coaches at top schools are making $5-$12 million per year, Notre Dame was paying Kelly $2.7 million. And considering the fact that they have their own individual TV contract that pays them more than any other team in the country, their sense of entitlement is completely f*cking outrageous given the current landscape of college football.

This MIGHT BE their wake-up call. But, I doubt it.

The real Rudy is a liar and a thief.
