I may have to go full on redneck since all the other sports have turnt hard left. I have never seen the merit of watching people drive around in circles, but I guess if we can get a fist fight or two out of it maybe it is worth the price of admission.

NASCAR died with #3. JSU is right outside 'Dega and the decline from 98 to 2003 was crazy. We would make crazy money working the races, then it was just dead.

It is easy for trashy rednecks to follow while hammered drunk.

NASCAR got too big too fast. Went national/corporate and lost their identity.

FWIW, watching a race live is pretty damn cool. On TV, not so much

Become an Indycar fan. Less trashy people, no kneeling, a talented young red blooded American Champion, faster cars, & more exciting and diverse race tracks.

It's a good balance of being more 'elitist' than Nascar, but not quite the snobbery level of Formula 1 and there's actually passing and shite.

Went to 'Dega this spring for my first race. Pretty damn cool. Lot's going on and the Saturday night infield show was trashy and awesome.
Great weekend of fun, and you can bring your own booze in the stands.
They lost their audience on TV by pulling off of broadcast TV and going to those half assed cable networks.
Maybe they will start seeing the cord cutters as their backbone. Better to have a good long term fan instead of trying to get rich quick.

I was a CART fan back in the mid to late 90s. The current Indycar product just doesn't do it for me. When you grew up seeing average qualifying speeds of 240+ at Michigan and California, everything seems slow in comparison.

Newgarden won the title? That is another one for Team Penske. How can Team Penske have such awesome Indy drivers and total tools on the Nascar side?

It's actually been pretty good this year outside of Truex and Kyle Busch dominating every race.

Just go watch a NASCAR race first, after watching a few NASCAR races @ Texas, and finally seeing Indycar race there, it was night and day different in speeds

Texas was part of the reason for the lowering speeds in IndyCar. The combination of high speeds and high banking angles caused drivers to blackout. They cancelled the 2001 race because of this. If you look at the top practice laps that year, they are full 10 MPH than this year's top qualifying times.

But yeah, IndyCar = racing with fighter jets, NASCAR = racing with tanks.

It is, although I do like the changes they made in 1 and 2 and how the cars appear to actually be racy in those turns now. I'm especially looking forward to the race in 40 days. Full schedule and lower track temps will hopefully see the development of several new lanes in the later stages of the Cup race.

To your point though it was quite eye opening to see how nimble the Indy cars are. I know they are on a fine line, but they take the turns there and almost glide to the straightaways vs the Cup cars that are trying to stick and hold on until they come out the other side.

Would be awesome to have a huge speed week at Daytona or Talladgega. Nascar, Indy Car, Motorcycle Road racing , 12 hour overnight races, Drag Races, 1 mile speed trials on the airport runway. Damn even throw in a huge motocross, mud bog and monster truck event. It would be like a huge racing orgasm
