What was the NFL's logic of Super Bowl 39 being in Jacksonville?

By nearly all accounts it was an underwhelming city/stadium to hold such an event. Take a look at the locations of where the game has been held and JAX sticks out as the least appealing from an aesthetic as well as a logistic standpoint.

They got awarded the Super Bowl when Peej declared they have no chance of getting the Super Bowl ever. They weren't even being considered before that.

And now he's moved on to Making America Great Again. Nobody will ever bust on him for his picks again. If there's a hall of fame on this board it's Peej first in line.

I remember they didn't have enough hotels, so they had to dock the cruise ships.

Some fat cat NFL suit probably got his bank account stuffed to have it there.

Didn't Jacksonville go Trump last night? They'll probably move it.

It's a great question but every warm weather NFL city has hosted a SB. Jacksonville absolutely sucks in that the only place you'd want to be is the beach, which is a hike to the shitty downtown stadium.

It probably had something to do with the relatively new Jaguars and their new stadium.

But at least we had some fun commentary.

It is a foregone conclusion that the NFL agreed to put the Super Bowl in New York / Jersey once they agreed to build the new stadium there. sort of a handout to the powers that be in the Big Apple.
Probably the same going on in Jacksonville for taking on a new franchise.

The sb was held there 12 years after they got the franchise.

They are scheduled far out, but perhaps they just needed to work out a good year for it
