2007 Illinois 28 #1 Ohio State 21. The fact that Illinois went into Columbus on senior day and beat the number 1 team in the country still shocks me. Also the Florida Ole Miss game from 2008 is up there
The 2007 college football season was the weirdest season I can ever remember

1996 college football... came home late at night and turned on prime ticket or whatever channel it was back on then to see Arizona state leading Nebraska 17-0 in the third quarter, on their way to a 19-0 win.
This was Nebraskas first loss in like 3 years, and it was shocking as hell since they returned a decent amount of talent from the 95 team that I consider the goat. Nebraska also put up 70+ on asu in Lincoln in 95.

That particular Maine team had several future NFL-ers on it, all on defense. Maine has always had a good defense and hasn't really had a good offense since the late 80s, early 90s with Mike Buck and Carl Smith- Heck, Kirk Ferentz was the coach then!
They had also gone into McNeese state and beat them in the I-AA playoffs 2 seasons before, solely on defense

By far. So many things like South Florida and Boston College being #2 during the season and the Kansas Missouri game was a top 5 matchup. Many people forget this too but heading into conference championship week the BCS title game would have been Missouri vs West Viriginia

2007: Stanford 24 #2 USC 23

I was at that Illinois/OSU game. Everything about it was shocking but nothing about it was a fluke. Illinois dominated the lines of scrimmage and Todd Boeckman came back to Earth.

You were shocked by that?
So you are saying you were not shocked that a sunbelt conference team that hadn't had a winning season since 1993 beat Alabama with Saban at the helm?

In 2003 I had taken $50 and bet college football, I let it ride 3 or 4 times and was up to a massive sized bet for a broke college kid, ($500 or $700). I put it on Syracuse at home catching 28 against VTech. The halftime score that popped up at Razorback stadium was VTech 55- Cuse O. Such a stupid decision

In 2007? Nah. Not really. I thought/expected to win, but wasn't shocked we lost. I didn't expect a massive turnaround in year one. In the previous 10 years I had seen us lose to La Tech twice, UCF, NIU, a Sylvester Croom led MSU twice, Southern Miss, Hawaii and Kentucky. Not to mention we had several close games with ECU, Houston, Duke, etc. Add to it that we had 5 players suspended for receiving extra textbooks, our best WR was suspended for the first half, and one of our players was a few months away from getting arrested for selling cocaine.

Glanced at the ESPN ticker and saw NCAAW - Baylor 140 Winthrop 32.
I was shocked at the score and had to know what happened. It was the first time in my life I was curious enough to Google results of a women's basketball game.
