I'm not the only one to say this. Tom Haberstroh said it here:

https://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=18731835

Read this: "Confessions of an NBA Scorekeeper".

https://www.google.com/amp/deadspin.com/5345287/the-confessions-of-an-nba-scorekeeper/amp

It's common for home scorekeepers to inflate the stats of their star player.

Get your NBA knowledge up sons.

To be fair it was haberstroh who pointed it out. And he's not a Houston fan at all.

P this place would be outstanding if all of the posters had the acumen that the rockets fanbase here does. There could be some real hi level discussion.

On occasion the OKC guys will give him a questionable assist, but not nearly as exaggerated as you guys say, and of course y'all come back with the "good ol Houston fellas don't help Harden or show homerism". bullshite

No Houston fan wrote the article it was a national guy .... stop acting like it is a Houston fan trying to pick on wittle Russ. Big bad rocket fan didn't do the research or make a video on ESPN about it. PTM just posted it as a little food for thought ie something to consider.

He averages like 3 more assists per game at home than on the road

Well 1.8 actually, but math is hard

He also averages 1.3 more minutes per game at home. The thunder score 7 more a game at home too.

Another crazy stat: they are 27-10 at home and 14-20 on the road. Almost like, gasp, they are playing better at home.

Westbrook does something that has never been accomplished in the history of the NBA.

Rocket fans can't give him credit. It's hilarious.

He stated "Houston doesn't inflate Hardens numbers" and if you want to believe that, cool.

And 2 of 3 Westbrooks highest assists games have came on the road.

I said 3 but didn't look up the exact number. I knew it was a good bit more at home.

And there are other star players who don't average nearly 2 assists more at home than on the road, and their records are better at home than on the road too.

Westbrook's stats are a bit inflated. It's okay to be honest and admit it.

On first place votes he will be somewhat close to James. But he's gonna have a lot of 3rd and 4th place votes where James gets 2nd and 3rds that's where the gap is gonna widen.

I saw a stat last night that the MVP race between Magic, Barkley and Jordan. I am not sure of the year

But Barkley had more 1st place votes but Magic had more 2nd and 3rd place votes so the total number was highers than Barkley's so Magic won the MVP

I also saw that the MVP winner has been on either the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th best team that year since 1976.

I still think you can give the MVP to a guy of lower ranking at times. Like this year if Westbrook was the only one having a record season.

Yea Westbrook will be 4th on the ballots for the voters who place a heavy emphasis on team wins. Which is a significant amount of voters. harden will 1,2,3 on those guys ballots. That's why we're seeing James as such a heavy favourite.

So basically your saying if everybody got in a circle jerk we could have some high level discussion. I do wish we had more X's and O's threads though. The few I've seen over the years were very enjoyable.
