Rookies are judged not on when they were drafted but when they played their first game. For example, Blake Griffin won rookie of the year competing against the 2010 class (the John Wall draft).
It's the same reason Mirotic is on the list despite being a 2011 pick. And next year, 2014 draftees like Embiid and Dario Saric will likely be on the teams next year.
