Had seasons tickets at the Jake for the '94-'96 seasons. Loved watching that team.

Bell was a jackass, but a hell of a hitter. He bounced around between the bigs and minors so much in the early '90's for bush league shite like not running out grounders.

Omar Visquel still is my favorite player of all time. The slickest fielding SS ever.

Him scaling the center field wall to beat those Mississippi State heckler's arse was the best Joey/Albert Belle moment.

One of Shreveport's finest

For anybody that ever played pro ball with this guy will have a different story. Complete douche, worst teammate, die in a dumpster. That's the kind of guy Belle was. Not even Thome or other Player will say a kind word about him,,,,,,,,,beyond his bat

Absolutely. It seemed more intense for some reason as well.

90's baseball was really entertaining.

I'm sure Albert and Bonds were good buddies. Those guys seemed like they would have enjoyed hanging out with each other.

Even his own teammates were scared of him. He was the keeper of the thermostat in the clubhouse and would keep it set in the "freeze zone". No one dared to turn it up.

Should be a HOFer. Top 5 player in the MLB in the '90s
Top 5 hitter maybe. Bonds is the clear #1 and Thomas is the clear #2 then you've got Piazza Martinez Mcgwire Sosa Walker and Bagwell not sure Belle in the top 3 of that group.

Definitely not a top 5 player though when you add in the top all around guys like Pudge Alomar Griffey Biggio and young Arod

He's terrible at his job - I don't know anybody who gets so much hype yet is so bad at their job. If there's a guy on third and one out there could be a ground ball to the shortstop and he won't tell you if the guy scores or not ... very casual about it. So you're like well I guess the runner staysd third and didn't come home ... And then five seconds later Uecker goes "so the Cardinals add to their lead".

Just shite like that happens all the time with him it's so annoying. Virtually every announcer on the MLB app is more pleasant to listen to and describes what's happening better than him

Sure he might not describe the game well but he's very entertaining and his voice is just made for radio.

He's a Louisiana native and LSU grad. He could have Aaron Hernandez's rap sheet and you'd still get down voted for this opinion

I'd have to say Griffey over Thomas any day. Especially if we're just talking 90s. I'm biased with Bonds because I'm a lifelong Giants fan, but Griffey in his prime is a clear #2. Any Bonds hater will probably tell you he's #1.
