I cannot link it or I would. I watched a heated argument between one of the teams and the USSSA director about this. Once the USSSA guy left the coach was telling everyone who wanted to listen what happened.

And now I know firsthand. USSSA is pure insanity.
I’ve encountered coaching against a 5 year old who has 85 games under their belt and 6 year old who has 110 games under their belt.
And that’s only USSSA official games. It’s very unlikely they played no other non-Utrip tourneys.
We played exactly 2 seasons of USSSA with my oldest, who did well, and couldn’t get him out fast enough. Those parents are beyond pathetic. Your kid is going to hate the game someday.

Money is definitely #1, but it has also really become about social status. Braxxton and his two $400 bats, his 200 Nike travel bag, and other similar things causes these parents to really puff their chests out. It’s a fricking joke and a shame in what it’s doing/done to the game.

It’s insane. You know damn well there’s parents out there who have zero business spending this kinda money as well.
My son is playing soccer while he plays baseball. He will play all sports that he enjoys, for as long as possible. If he hates any sport because he played it too much as kid, then I will have failed him.
