I'm gonna have a hard time giving the Big 10 credit when one of these west coast teams wins a CWS

Best comment I have seen so far;

"At least now Minnesota will be able to play in the Rose Bowl."

I’m talking ex-college players from those schools.

For example, Kim was fricking Reggie Bush back in the day.

ND has benefitted from a national schedule (east coast to west) through their independence. That is now offered by the Big 10. Don’t underestimate the impact of alumni events and contributions with a national schedule. If you can offer that along with greater TV $….

Travel budget will be eleventeen-million to haul all that crap and people back and forth. I wonder if they’ll just rent storage lockers in Indiana lol.

It doesn’t really matter, with NIL and the transfer portal, college sports has already peaked and will start cratering like the Dims economy

Miami to the SEC.
Pass. Miami is done. If the SEC wants to make a serious move they’ll go after Notre Dame and the rest of the Carolinas. If the Big 10 added Oregon and Washington then you’d have a new college football paradigm. Those two conferences have their own playoff and the rest of FBS has a separate playoff.

How is USC going to win a CWS with road trips to Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Michigan every other weekend? Play the first half of the season at home and the second half on the road?

Is CWS baseball?

UW doesn't do baseball.

Meh basketball has been like that for a minute with the portal getting absurd but the stands are still full and people bet on it

Sources: USC and UCLA have been notified that their application to join the Big Ten has been accepted. The schools will begin play in 2024.

This would be a perfect time to say “that’s gay” if we were still allowed to say that.

If Oregon and Washington are in, the Pac 12 may just be completely absorbed by the B1G. At least some rivalries out west will be intact, and they can still have a higher level of success to strive for with Ohio State leading the charge.

Six more, to be precise: the Big Ten could target Oregon, Washington, Cal, Stanford, Utah, and Colorado to join up, West Coast college football insider John Canzano said.

"Big Ten isn't close to done," he said.

If all goes according to plan, those schools could make up a presumptive "Big Ten West" division and would bring the conference to 20 members. In effect, the first super-conference in college football history.

This would be palatable as it would basically be a PAC 8, under the BIG10 umbrella.

Welp Oregon and Washington are not in because they both have state laws that require both schools to be in the same conference as their sister schools, Oregon State and Washington State. The Big 10 doesn't want all four so they either stay in the PAC-8 or they move to the MWC or Big 12.

Notre Dame is next.

The average distance from UCLA to another school in the Pac-12 — not including USC — is about 735 miles. The average distance from UCLA to a school in the Big Ten is about 2,160 miles.

Sports like football, which has the benefit of a week between games and simply play less often, will be easier to coordinate. But programs like USC baseball and UCLA softball — who played 53 and 61 games in 2022, respectively — may feel the brunt of travel.

Yeah no shite. As Rich Eisen said, the student athlete is over.

The BIG10 has just become the first National Conference.

Coast to Coast...Sea to shining Sea...Rutgers and Maryland to USC. The CFB transatlantic rai!road in TV revenue covering the entire nation. This is such a bigger coup than Texas, Oklahoma... Mizzou, etc. I mean basically Southern schools to most folk.

This is Pan-Am. This is Wonderbread. Appealing to a national audience and not just regional Southwest/Southeast.

Are you saying that UW don't have a baseball team? That is odd.
