Been to a bunch of Preds games after moving here a year ago from NYC (still a Rags fan but Predators are #2 team for me):
- Pekka Rinne is a very, very good goalie but has a hip issue.
- Shae Weber best D in the league; has a cannon for a slapshot. Knocked a dude out against Dallas last year who was trying to block a shot.
- Mike Fisher is married to Carrie Underwood
- Seth Jones is one of the most intriguing young defensemen in the game
- James Neal used to be a TPOS but has taken on a new direction....for now. We'll see how long that lasts.
- Filip Forsberg will be the Rookie of the Year.
- They just traded Derek Roy for Mark Arcobello; Edmonton fans are pissed off because they liked Mark.
- Ribero is bouncing back nicely from a difficult time in Washington and Phoenix
That's about it.

Is he still doing pretty poor?

23 points is poor? GTFO
You act as if he would be rob brown without Crosby and Malkin and he is clearly more talented than that.

He averaged more than a point per game in Pittsburgh, he has 23 in 35 games this year and he offers nothing else outside scoring. It's not poor I suppose, but it kind of is, for him.
Even his 2nd year in Dallas is about equal to this season, not just Pittsburgh.

1) if anyone needs scoring this year it's the predators.
2) since when was 23 points in 35 games bad? You saying he is as good as Malkin /Crosby / Ovechkin and other high powered scorers?
OR are you saying that Mike Riberio and Filip Forsberg = Malkin/ Crosby?
Or are you just totally psyched to have Hornqvuist?
I am happy with 23 points in 35 games and not being a total dirtbag on the ice.....

Carey Price now tied for 1st in league in save % with at least 20 starts.
4th in GAA
2nd in wins
7-0 in shootouts
Price hits 200 wins
9th youngest NHL goalie to hit that plateau
5th hab goalie to hit that number
ALLEZ MONTREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been offline, so it's a little late, but... what a fun Winter Classic. Tight game throughout, great ice conditions so no dishonest bounces, a killer 5-on-3 pk to spur on the boys in red, and a classic ending. Pretty much everything you could want from the game itself.
I still think it was terribly mismanaged by the Caps and the NHL, but the Hawks and Caps gave us one of the best WC's ever. And yes, it was a crappy call on Toews, but so was the boarding call on the Caps just two minutes earlier... so the Hawks can take their 5 to 1 power play advantage and not say a thing about the refs.

If he wasn't run and injured by the rags in the conference finals last year we may have made it to the stanley cup finals. Tokes did ok though filling in. Hockey playoffs are arguably the toughest in all sports. We are doing great now but playoffs is where it matters. Bergevin has done great so far building for the future. We had a great run deep last year and hopefully we can top it this year. Gonna be tough though!

Stars vs Hawks just started on NBC Sports. They've owned the Stars over the last few years, winning 10 of 11. Lets see how the Stars hot streak works in Chicago.
As I'm typing this, Jamie Benn scores an early one. 1-0 Stars
Edit: Chicago ties it a couple minutes later, 1-1

can't believe the Stars are playing tonight. I should've known better

They are playing great offensively. But after each of the first 2 goals, Chicago tied it up within 2 minutes.
Then Dallas scored again and held on to the 3-2 lead for a while, but Chicago went on the PP a few times and finally scored on one with about 2 minutes left in the 2nd.
FYI stars haven't been on the PP yet.

thats disappointing considering how well they've done on special teams the last 2 weeks. I saw the go ahead goal just now. Pretty slick

Chicago ties it 4-4 with four minutes left in the game. Great shot on what looked to be an impossible angle.
Edit: OT. This game feels a lot like the first game of the season between these two. Dallas controlled most of the game, but couldn't put the Hawks away when they had the chance. Chicago won that one in a shootout.
