Everyone knows ULM is gonna skull drag little brother and that’s why the tickets are so cheap. This will be the nail in the coffin for Hudspeth.

There will be tickets even cheaper than that available for LSU's games the next 2 weeks.

Do you guys realize how much money the La. taxpayers are paying schools like UL every frickin year to balance their athletic budgets? Do the research! They don't need our money if they are going to sell tickets to their "best" home game of the year for $5!
The state(that's us) just cuts them a check at the end of the year to keep their checks from bouncing....

So not selling those is better than selling some for $5 and getting a few concession dollars?
BTW, LSU just announced discounted tickets for tickets unsold to this weekend's game.

I dunno, would kinda suck to be a big time program with all-world talent but get their arse kicked 3-4 times every year. Then they hire the guy from the Waterboy as headcoach.

LSU is the perennial underachiever ever year, you shouldn't be laughing at anyone.

I don't think there's a home game I want to make this season. Last game I was excited to go to was Boise last year, only to see us embarrassed. The other one I was excited for was all the way back in 2014, Louisiana Tech. Where I went and watched Kenneth Dixon break a record on our own field. We have to go back all the way to 2010 for the next home game I was excited about, Oklahoma State (where we had to play them twice in Stillwater to get them to come to Lafayette).

We have Grambling coming in 2018, Tulsa coming in 2019, and Ohio coming in 2021.

Our scheduling has been terrible. Hopefully Dr. Maggard can work some magic and get a more recognizable name at home in the coming years. Just hard to get excited for home games when you take a look at the schedule.

...and I'm a fan. Imagine how hard it is to convince the super casual fan to come watch Hud's squad potentially lose to a school they've likely never heard of.

Who do you want them to schedule? Who are they going to beat that has any name value? They schedule Gramblings & Ohios because those are the only games they have a good shot at winning.

I understand why they do it. It's a tough spot to be in scheduling wise. Do we schedule a team that will bring a decent crowd out and never come back because we got crushed? Or do we schedule a team that doesn't get anyone excited but we can win the game?

Scheduling has been shitty but it is pretty nice to be able to easily park somewhere close by, drink Parish and Bayou Teche beer in the stadium, and not deal with ridiculously long lines to get concessions or take a piss. It isn't an SEC environment but it's a pretty enjoyable time, at least when the Cajuns aren't getting their shite pushed in.

Harmonic convergence: ULL tickets and degree have achieved equivalent value. Impressive.

It is kinda like the chicken and egg argument. There is no right method. Just have to find the method that works for the program. Scott Farmer's method while AD wasn't the greatest. Next year we get Grambling and New Mexico St at home and hit the road for Miss St and Bama.

For us to start growing the fan base to where we can average 30k or more a game we need more regional matchups and win them regularly. More games with USM, Tulane, LaTurd, Rice, Houston, Tulsa and old Sun Belt rivals like WKU and Middle Tennessee.

Then schedule P5 programs like Kansas, Illinois, Wake Forrest, Vandy, Iowa St, Kentucky, Rutgers, Maryland and other P5 programs that are not perineal upper third of their conference. Giving yourself a shot at a victory instead of just a paycheck.

The Administration has had a losers mentality since Dr Authement took over as Pres and he killed the basketball program and the rest of athletics with it. Winning has never been a priority for them. It's always been a social event for the big fish amongst Cajun supporters. But now that the RCAF has been created an every day joe blow is giving hard earned money even in a shite economy there has been growing expectations. 4 straight bowl wins only increased those expectations.

Right now they aren't delivering.

Yea, I understand too. Hopefully Dr. Maggard can find a good balance between the spectrum of getting someone to come whip our arse - to - whose arse did we just whip?

This should be a goal. Miss State has played at LA Tech twice in 9 or 10 years. They've also played at Southern Miss and South Alabama. Oklahoma State played at South AL this year.

I don't see why we can't pull off similar agreements. We've also got to find our way out of the Sun Belt. CUSA wouldn't be a bad landing spot. Tech, Western Kentucky, Southern Miss. Those would be quality conference mates who could generate excitement among fans. Vs...

Idaho
ULM
New Mexico State
Georgia State

They don't excite me much. Hell, they don't excite their own fans much and don't bring much in the way of a traveling crowd. CUSA has a little bit better class of teams and with it, more interested fans.

I hope one day all the non P5 teams go to D2 and keep a playoff system. Playing Southern Miss, Tulane, Tech, etc for a spot in the playoffs or the playoffs themselves would be awesome.
