On a more serious note what's up with you and Lafayette?

People who never been there would assume the whole Cajun heartland is like that, Opelousas included.

It's a fun sport to watch if you aren't mingling with the meatheads in the bar/ crowd

nailed it. At face value, I definitely enjoy catching it on TV in my own living room. I DO NOT enjoy looking at it in public with a gaggle of UFC douches who think they could coach these guys.

Selfishly I wish they'd embrace the spectacle aspect of it a little more and have the fighters confront each other, have the option of crazy entrances like the fighters in Japan had, etc.

No it wasn't. It became trashy with Tapout and Affliction. UFC pre 2004 was awesome.

Why is this on the "more SPORTS board" ? I dont consider ufc a sport. I consider it a distraction for trash to momentarily forget that they're trash.

You mean like the NFL?

Interestingly, the incidents of domestic violence among the NFL is less than that of the general population (the national rate of domestic violence arrests is around 360 per 100,000 men, while on the same chart, NFL players are at 210 arrests per 100,000). The MMA incidents are at 750.

I have never been to a bar or a UFC event. I have been to pro wrestling shows and wrestling is more family oriented so it's not as trashy.

That's because fans are just looking to have a good time at wrestling shows. None of the just bleed and mma bro crowd.

I don't care to watch it. It's a bit too barbaric for my tastes.

yeah, there were some crowd fights there but it would be no different than a college football environment around here.

people take that a lot more seriously as you might imagine.

trash is trash, bro.

I just happened to like UFC a lot more back then.
