I enjoy watching it but I admit the majority of UFC fighters look like trash. They are covered with tattoos, missing teeth, and look like they have spent quality time in prison.
That's because in order to actually be willing to fight in a cage with someone else and be able to take that kind of punishment you have to have a screw lose in your head.
I boxed for fun one time with someone smaller than me, we had the headgear and everything, and boxing on TV looks easy because those guys are trained to take punches. If you aren't trained to take punches its crazy. The first punch my opponent landed knocked me on my arse. It lasted 1.5 rounds before I got knocked out and every second was hell whether it be a punch making me dizzy or just being tired. I got a concussion from it afterward.
No sane, normal person can do things like MMA.

I avoid bars showing UFC fights like the plague.
I remember like 7 years ago when Ohio State and Penn State played in a big game(2008 I think) we went to a sports bar to watch that and there was a UFC event going on also. They had a separate curtained off room where you had to pay $10 or whatever to get in to watch the UFC fights.
The clientelle that were entering that room were pretty much the standard stereotype of meathead white trash that you would expect. Think your typical douche bag $30k millionaire you find at a typical bar on a Friday/Saturday night, with lots of tattoos and wearing a tshirt that is too small and overall just looks like a douche.
Also when I lived in California it seemed like every mexican I came across was "training" for MMA.

It's a fun sport to watch if you aren't mingling with the meatheads in the bar/ crowd
If you think bars are bad for UFC fights, try being at a Las Vegas sportsbook for one.

It wasn't always bad. One of my favorite memories is watching UFC 66 in a packed Hooters.

I can only imagine
I was at the Dillashaw title fight last weekend and some fans were great. The rest was a white trash convention

UFC is the gayest sport ever
why is it the guys have to wear incredibly short and tight shorts just to get the s*** beat out of themselves? They also get into some very awkward positions that no man should ever been in with another

Yet they could whip your arse in 30 seconds.

UFC was cool when it had a smaller audience... saw UFC 17 live at the Civic Center.
the crowd was filled with rednecks ... me being one of them.
Beer was spilled everywhere when Tank Abbot KO'd some guy within a minute.
flying all over the place.

I enjoy watching UFC on my tv in the comfort of my home. Once I went to a live event in Atlanta, and it was the worst shite show ever. It was like people of Walmart went to prom. Never will I do that again.

Yeah, boxing on tv is very misleading. It looks like taking a punch with the gloves on is manageable when its actually pretty tough.
At football camp in high school one year, we put on the boxing gloves and went at it a bit. Did it without head gear, then actually put on the helmets and went at it. Both ways, a punch was a punch and hurt. I've got a lot of respect for both sports.

UFC/MMA is to white people what rapping and sports are to black people. It's a dream to get out of the hood.
