Can anyone stop OU? They will kill Oregon IMO and I don't see anyone stopping them

It will be hard for Kansas to beat them 3 times in same year

Best player in tourney and most experience= championship

Nova looked unbeatable last night. 63% from the field. We'll see what UNC does tonight.

I thought all the teams that won last night looked really good in their wins.

I would rather be in Kansas's shoes.

Nova is going to have a field day with Kansas. Kansas has been awful shooting the ball so far this tournament. It's finally going to catch up with them against Nova on Saturday. UNC breezes by Indiana tonight, IMO. UVA goes down to Iowa St.

Yeah, I don't see how you come away from last night thinking a clear favorite emerged.

Agreed. I think Nova beat the "best" team and did it in very convincing fashion. If I ranked performances based on how teams looked and who they beat its probably Nova, OU, KU and then Oregon, but the difference is hard to judge. Like you could argue, ignoring seeds, that KU played the best team last night

Considering Kansas is still in the tourney and beat OU twice this year, I'd say Kansas could. Oregon has looked really good in the tourney so far, and OU didn't exactly dominate VCU in the second round. None of the remaining teams are unbeatable by any stretch.

I know this is always a popular argument for some reason, but isn't it also going to be tough for OU to beat Kansas once when they've failed at it twice already this year? Are they more likely to beat Kansas because they've lost to them twice or something? If they split the regular season 1-1, would OU be less likely to win a tourney game against Kansas? Just seems like a stupid argument

You say this as if it's a tried and true method for success, but it's not. Michigan St was a veteran squad with a great player and lost to a 15 seed.

People look at it as an odds argument relying on a basic assumption that the teams are relatively even. If they played a series to 7, Kansas for example would win 4 or 5 of those games. Therefore, the more times they play people assume one of those losses is "due."

If OU had already won a game, they look at it as one of those few losses had already happened, lowering the chances it happens again.

Of course, odds don't really work this way, as OU could win 10 in a row and then KU 25 out of next 30, and so on.

call me a homer if you want, but the top team to win the tourney now is the same as when the brackets were released.

Add in the fact that you can say it's a "revenge" factor and the coaching staff of the losing team has time to figure out the winning team. I think it works a bit better in college football than basketball, but I guess the sets etc in real time help you prepare for a future game
