Not to derail the usual shitposts but it is official he has a partial tear of the UCL and will need TJ, but will get a second opinion first.

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Alex Reyes has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow and will get a second opinion, but season-ending Tommy John surgery is likely, a source told ESPN's Jim Bowden.

What will they do with Weaver now? Wasn't he a top starting prospect in SGF last year?

If they move Weaver up does that mean Flaherty goes to Memphis? Or do they put him in SGF to start the year and move him later?

Weaver got some starts in the Majors last season and got lit up, but young and skipped Triple A so not too unexpected but it knocked him down a peg.

Rosenthal always wanted to be a starter and will get his shot now, they stretched him out this offseason.

Is it me or is this actually probably a good thing for his career? Get it out of the way early on since it seems like it will happen sooner or later anyways.

Isn't Weaver the 2nd best prospect pitching wise with Flaherty the 3rd?

Was Flaherty in Memphis last year actually? For some reason I thought he was in High A.

I don't think it's ever a good thing, but yeah it does seem like any young pitcher with a cannon for an arm gets TJ at some point so I guess better now than when legit World Series contenders.

Still a major kick in the ole raisins.

Yes, at least by MLB Weaver is still the #2 prospect in the org, Flaherty is #3 but he's still here in Springfield.

Sandy Alcantara may pass both of them shortly though, he's on the fast track to the majors similar to Reyes.

Alcantara going to be a SGF guy? If so, I will hopefully get to see him throw.

I'm hoping to see them a lot when they come to Arvest. Watching that core group of the Royals WS team was fun.
