Tbch PFF doesn't do the best job with QBs. For QB analysis I favor advanced football analytics.

Because you disagree with it

Did you compare 2014 Romo vs 2011 Brees on that site?
No but I do know they have tweaked their formulas since then so it's not an apples to apples comparison.

Only for Brees I guess, not for Luck who's ranked 23 eh?

According to your website, Hoyer > Luck

I'm a big PFF fan, but I almost want to throw out last year's evaluations. They brought on a lot of new people, and I think their play to play ratings suffered.

They brought in a whole lot of new people, but their ratings didn't actually go onto the site at all. It was used to evaluate those new members

My friend works for them

And you obviously should use PFF as a tool and take it for what it is. That was kind of my point since he keeps going there for his oline rankings while ignoring the QB

Well the website you pointed to has Luck ranked #23, you have him EASILY in the top 5. So there is a disconnect somewhere from your favorite site

How can you tell?

I read every single game recap they do, and occasionally go diving into their statistics. If you're looking for a linear regressed study, I don't have it.

That being said, it stands to reason. A CB undercuts a receiver to intercept the ball. How much of that play is coaching? Did the CB actually leave himself susceptible to a bigger play and take a massive risk? How would two different people account for those issues? The QB might have been under a bit of pressure, how did that effect what the QB was doing and how do different people account for that?

Well you've got to combine those websites along with YPA and rating along with what you see with your eyes.

Same field brother, except I'm on the IT side. Glad to be out of public and into industry

Also, I have 2 free tickets to the Saints-Pats preseason game if you want them. I can't attend and gave the other 3 away already

Wut? I'm actually one of the biggest proponents of PFF on here. I'm very anti using only their ratings as an argument. I read their rankings, look up statistics, and use the eye test from watching games on the NFL website.

I LOOOOOVE their QB timing statistics, as well as how they adjust the accuracy ratings for dropped passes and throw aways.
