Today is easily my favorite day of the year

It's torture waiting for the big game.
In wake up and immediately turn on ESPN for some early coverage.
Once the coverage starts on the network the game is on I flip over there and devour all 4 hours of pre game coverage. I can't get enough of it, I need the breakdowns and pre game chatter about every aspect of the big game featuring the NFL's best. At the same time it's torture waiting for the big game. Ugh.
The two best teams. The anticipation. The excitement. The two best teams going at it. One game to decide it all. All on the line. Must see TV.
Then the game. 2 teams. The two best. Going at it to decide who lifts the Lombardi trophy. Does it get any better? I hate the commercials and halftime show because it takes away from the gridiron.
But my FAVORITE part is the end when the victor gets to hoist the Lombardi trophy. It brings a tear to my eye every year as they get rewarded for the blood sweat and tears they put in to be called the NFLs best.

I have almost no interest in this game, and may not even watch it. Enjoy though, especially those anti-domestic violence commercials that will be shown every commercial break.
By the way, I'm sure you can refer to it as the Super Bowl in this thread without threat of lawsuit.

Personally, I could not care less if I ever saw another NFL game. I don't watch them. As far as I am concerned the NFL and the NBA could disappear off the face of the Earth and I would not care.
But I know other people really enjoy both leagues and I hope that you enjoy the game.

Watch your mouth when talking about the NBA

Your post gave me more anticipation and optimism. Thank you!

I have no interest in the pre-game
It's the same shite they've been talking about for 2 weeks.

Yeah, all the "stories" that media tries to build up. This is the Super Bowl. You don't need freaking stories.
Posted on 2/1/15 at 10:42 am to PeteRose
Yes you do. You think a 24 hours news network dedicated to sports doesn't need stories?

But we need to know which Patriots ballboy pissed on the Colts footballs.

it's that they beat the same stories down our throats every day. I understand some might enjoy watching reruns of sportscaster because that's what I relate it to, but I'm sure many others don't care for it
Then there are those stories that have nothing to do with game itself that they feel need to hype up

Their concern is making money. They're very good at it.
And again, they're a 24 hour sports news network covering an event that doesn't happen for two weeks. Of course they'll need to think outside the box as far as content goes.
You get mad that they shove the same stories down your throat every day and then get mad when they manufacture other stories not having to do with the game? How does that make sense?

what. First off I don't get mad...I just choose not to what the nonsense.
Secondly, they reiterate the same babble of what each teams need to do to win the game...then they find other fill in stories that have nothing to do with helping either team win. I can handle little bit a day watching maybe, but all this nonsense coverage covering pretty much the same topics essentially for two weeks is a bit much
Again I understand why they do it..I just don't care for it

The best sports day of the year is easily the Friday of Championship week
You have all the big name basketball teams playing, NHL, NBA, Spring training, sometimes SEC series or tournament starting, and starting Spring ball.
