These days everybody makes good clubs. You just have to find the ones that feel good to you. I never hit a Ping iron that I liked (but I never hit any of their forged clubs). On the other hand, I've owned a couple of sets of Mizuno forged irons and they're like butter. But of course YMMV.

I am looking for more of a blade, players iron. Getting ready to hit the TM players, Mizuno 54 and Ping

I really liked the AP2s, and have only heard good things about Mizuno irons. I'm looking forward to hitting them, but wanted to get some opinions on which ones would be most suitable for my game. It seems they have much more of a variety than titleist does for my handicap so I was a little confused on which ones to try. I'll start with the MP 54 and 64 and go from there.

The only reason I included Ping in the discussion is because I have a set I've been using for years, and I'm assuming that might make the transition a little easier.

Just to expand on the S55s, I got a set this year and they are plenty forgiving, pure shots feel great and mishits aren't too harsh, and not a lot of distance loss. Plus since they are cast they will hold up longer if you plan on keeping your new set for a while

I've hit them all and the best set of irons that I've ever played are the Miura irons. I just bought a set of the 9003's and they are the best. Thay are expensive, but if you play a lot of golf they are worth it.

What? You have to be a major player to hit those Miuras. The are butter knives.

My golf buddy has a set of the new Pings and loves them.

Only problem is I can still beat him with my Wilson I10taxfrreeweekendset. Gotta stick to what works till it don't.

The blades are butter knives, the 9003's are forged cavity backs and are the same size of the Mizuno JPX 800 pro that I was hitting before them.

Play i20's and love them, got them instead of the 912 AP2's about two years ago.

damn right... Miura 1957 baby blades, best irons I've ever had and probably the last set I'll ever own.

Still not a strong as the original Adams Idea. They had a 17* and 20* 3/4.

1600 really isn't that bad for a custom made set of irons when you consider a normal set of off the shelf irons costs 1000
