What fantasy? It is a fact and history that Mett performed well as a rookie.

I actually watched a lot of their games (I have had a thing for the Titans since the Eddie George days). I have to agree that the team did pack it in late. They were not playing well but you made a great point

quote:

From everything I've heard in and around Nashville, Mett simply didn't take the opportunity as seriously as he should've over the last 5-6 games last year. Maybe he realized his teammates were done (and that locker room was a mess at the end) but the brass within the organization didn't view him as a guy to be the face of the franchise at this point.

He had his opportunity (not the most opportune one albeit) but he had one. He just didn't show them enough, whether it be leadership or just caring enough, for them to know he was their guy. They had the number two pick to get a great talent. If you don't know 100% Mett can be your guy, or you get a to good to pass up trade offer, you can't pass on Mariotta.

Mett was a stellar 0-6 in his first 6 starts. He gave the Titans no choice but to draft Mariota. Mariota is proving the Titans made the right move. The kid is the total package on and off the field. Mett was a stooge last year. He hurt himself. You are just the typical LSU homer

Ok so is it still fair for me to post all the rookie QBs who he performed better than? Or do only yalls stats count and mine are whacky?

How is he proving that? It seems preseason games matter when people want them to matter.

When Mariota was fricking up last week it was "it's just preseason." This week it's "he's the real deal."

Did Peyton make the colts draft another QB after he went 3-13 his rookie season? Team record is meaningless when your team is dogshit as it is

You about to get raped. Mentioning Brady or Manning is a no no in here

I almost qualified the statement saying he wasn't Peyton but if someone can't infer that with common sense then that's their problem

Really! Go watch Peytons rookie highlights. He was a star the moment he stepped on the field even with the high int count. Mett will be like Flynn or Ryan Fitzpatrick way before he's Manning. Hell Andy MF'n Dalton is a better QB than Mett and he's a LOL fest

Luck also won a few games and walked to make throws. Mett was babied compared to Luck.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt scoffed at the idea of trading Zach Mettenberger. If all goes according to plan with No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota, Mettenberger doesn't have a future in Tennessee outside of clipboard duties. "In the league today it is very hard for one quarterback to make it through the whole season, so you better have a plan in case your starter doesn’t go,’’ Whisenhunt said. "So we certainly feel very fortunate that we have Zach, and what Zach brings to the table." Mett has a ton of arm talent and has showcased it this preseason, going 15-of-20 for 220 yards and a 2:1 TD:INT ratio. He could be a hot name next offseason.

Someone should offer Whiz a washed up vet. He loves old worn down players

QBs with a better rating: Nick Foles, Josh McCown, Drew Stanton, Geno Smith, Shaun Hill, Austin Davis, Kyle Orton, Kirk Cousins, Mike Glennon, Charlie Whitehurst.

What the hell were the Bucs thinking taking Winston instead of trading that pick considering they already had Glennon
