Ran a race against Tom Fleming who went on to win the Boston Marathon. Ran track with two sub 4 minute milers at LSU. Bob Smith and Tom Douple.

Best basketball player was Darrell Mitchell without a doubt.
Best freak athlete was Corey Webster. Remembering how awesome he was in high school in basketball and football, for whatever reason, makes me think of how stupid it must have been to have to play against Allen Iverson in high school. If Webster was that good and dominant, Iverson must have been a sight to see in high school.

also played against a team coached by Bum Phillips in Port Niches, TX. They were beating us 56-0 in the 3rd quarter. We finally scored and they started a fight - our coach pulled us off the field and we left.

Sounds like you played in Georgia growing up. Didn't those guys play for afc lightning?

Yet they played for the lightning. I didn't play out there though. Just met up with them in tournaments. Marking them for the first time is what gave me my reality check that I would be attending LSU and not playing college soccer.

Played with Brian Mitchell and against Brett Favre and Derrick Thomas...but I was a punter so I use the terms "with" and "against" very loosely, lol. I really thought Thomas killed Brian on a blind side hit at Legion Field. That guy was a phenomenal athlete!

Best baseball player was a guy named Matt Ford. RHP, threw low to mid 90's. Picked by the Blue Jays, but went to school at Ok. State, got injured.

Football, I had the joy of being a 143 pound CB when Reggie Torbor came around the edge.

Baseball, I'd have to say Josh Teekel. If only he had an off-speed pitch. I did catch a bullpen session for Chad Durbin during my sophomore year when he was in town during the offseason.

Played against, Deon Jones, Ricky Jefferson, Darell Williams, and Ronnie Fiest, a couple of west st john players that ended up going to tulane, some destrehan d lineman that ended up going to arkansas(i think) and Destrehan QB, Donovan Isom that ended up going to Utah. The best out of those in high school I would say was Darell, could barely(not at all) tackle that man

Tyrann Mathieu, Leonard Fournette, Eric Reid, Landon Collins, Debo Jones, William Clapp, Ronnie Feist, Trai Turner, Jonah Austin, more St. Aug guys I can't think of at the moment.

Played basketball against Elfrid Payton in gym class a bunch of times in middle school if that counts.

Fournette's first HS game ever was against my school. He had over 200 rushing and 3 or 4 TDs despite not playing the first quarter. L O L

We beat St. Aug with a 38 yard FG by yours truly as time expired. 59-56

Johnny Giavotella

He was pitcher in little league. Threw like 70 MPH from 48ft.

I was the only person on my team who could hit him
