but the decline of golf was much more about the economy than Tiger.

Say what? The PGA is experiencing the same hangover the NBA felt after MJ's departure. It's inevitable when you have such a superstar in your sport.

Your right about that but Tiger could not stand those guys getting any recognition from his fame and ability.....at least that's the way I remember it.
Your memory is horrible. Tiger did more for his caddy then any caddy in history. Steve was more popular than most actual golfers thanks to Tiger

And he will say "I did some good things this week. I think I'm really close to getting it back together"

That's what he's been saying for years.

I'm talking about the game of golf. Not just the PGA tour.

I was referring to Fluff.

I said it at the end of last year and until something changes Tiger is not one of the Top 125 in the world. The #125 golfer would 6 and 4 him in match play.
He is painful to watch.
I got ripped for saying he was not Top 125

What is sad...at his peak he was not willing to give credit to those who surrounded him.....caddie, swing coach or whomever. He is to stubborn to go back for help.

What's sad is seeing such talent wasted. He was a once in a generation type athletic figure. He brought it all on himself but its just a shame to see him lose the greatness he had. He was on track to become the best golfer of all time and his demons prevented that.

I'm not saying we should feel sorry for him but its sad when anyone wastes their talent due to their own choices.

Doubtful. Similar level coverage, the back story just changes. It goes from if/when will Tiger be back to look at how bad he is now (the train wreck element).

Golf channel guys and girls are on suicide watch.

The cock sucking of Twoods this am on morning drive was nauseating.
At one point they said there's 130 other players in this event let's talk about bubba.
3 mins later back to dick sucking tiger woods they go.

The amazing thing is he was PGA player of the year just a year or two ago. He was close to turning the corner but just couldn't do it.

I wonder if things would be different if that snafu at the 2013 Masters hadn't happened. If he had gone on to win perhaps he would've gotten confidence back and been back to normal. As much as we are all writing his professional obit, it might just be matter of him just winning a major....of course that's easier said than done at the moment.

It may have made somewhat of a difference, especially from the confidence/psychological standpoint. However, I think most of his issues are physical. His body was doomed to break down given how much he bulked up earlier in his career (all legal or not) and the amount of torque that he used/uses. His style is not one built for longevity especially at the level he is used to.

So, looking back, I wonder if he feels all that strange was worth where he will end up?

Theres something to be said about a conservative, boring lifestyle. Your fall is more graceful, less painful. And you are far more cherished and revered by those around you.

Yeah---no.

Just look at the Knicks and the Lakers. They act like it's even bigger news when they're NOT winning. The Hawks could win 40 games in a row and they'd still want to talk about which big-name free agent the Lakers will draw in the off-season.

The NBA got in a bind because the next wave of "legends" they put their money behind were totally unlikable (Kobe and Iverson), Pat Riley's Knicks and Heat teams set NBA offense back 30 years, and the media flat-out refused to embrace the Spurs because they were in BFE Texas.

He really needs to give it up or take a year/two off. It's not fun for him anymore

Michael Hooper finished +12, 131. Keep your head up Michael, you just beat Tiger Woods.
