“No I would not and he’s not going to call and ask,” Harmon said. “I don’t think he needs a swing coach. If I were advising Tiger I’d tell him, ‘You’re the greatest player that ever lived, just go to the range and hit shots.’”

This sounds like Butch subtly telling Tiger to go frick himself.

He said his advise to any is never work with Tiger. 90% of what you say Tiger will flat say he will not do. Honestly just needs a club pro to watch him.

This is all pretty much the end for Eldrick.

I can't see him getting back to where he was, or even being competitive.

He needs to find a former teaching pro that's caddying now and get him on his bag.

Speaking of which, it now looks like Tiger did Steve Williams a favor.

@ESPNStatsInfo: Tiger Woods: 8 majors w/ Butch Harmon as coach, 6 w/ Hank Haney, but none since turning to Sean Foley in 2010 LINK

He absolutely did. He kept him employed by making him move on.

I also heard at some point during the Barclay's that Stevie was thinking about retiring. And who could blame him? He's got to be the all-time money winner as a caddy. I heard he earned something like $12 million as Tiger's caddy, which works out to about a million dollars a year. He hasn't done bad on Scott's bag either and he did pretty well working for Norman before Tiger (even though purses were lower then). If it were me, I'd head back to New Zealand and enjoy the rest of my life.

so were the 5 wins in 2013 completely unrelated to Foley?

It's not like Tiger was allowing him to do too much, I bet he did what he wanted like 80% of the time

They didn't mention any specific reason, just that he was giving some thought to retiring. Maybe he's just getting tired of the lifestyle. I'll say this though, retiring at 50 beats the hell out of retiring at 55.
