I didn't even know the game was on last night until a buddy asked me if we were going to do something for it. That's obviously a personal problem, but just don't care about college basketball. The first few days I'm usually at a bar and hang out and catch the crazy upsets and fun finishes. Once those only have a chance of happening every 4 days or so, I'm out.

It's great that so many people enjoy the back end of the tournament, but it's far from must watch for me. I watched the second half, last night, thought it was cool, then moved on.

So you don't care about college basketball as evidenced by this post yet you believe you have a valid opinion as to what college basketball as a whole should do?

Yeah, OK.

they talked about it a shitload on Dallas radio and its damn near impossible for anything to take a bite out of Cowboys coverage here.

There was 10 million less viewers than last year's final. Part of that was Duke was in the final or maybe the fact that it was on TBS. Cable will kill their ratings unless they move back to CBS

To be fair, that was the most-watched National Championship in about two decades.

Is that including the viewers on the 'team stream' channels too? I was at the Westgate and the sportsbook was fully packed so there seemed to be some interest.

From the articles I saw earlier, Team Streams were counted, but having the main broadcast on cable was still expected to hurt ratings.

CBS gets the odd years and TBS gets the even years every year through 2024.

I don't believe I offered up an opinion on what they should do...

I didn't watch much of college basketball outside of the tournament but holy shite that was a great game. If you think that was a boring tournament, you are just looking for attention.

The first two days were really good it made what march madness is all about. That sat and sun only had a few good games. The regional finals weekend was a disappointment to Cinderella seekers. But last night was what a championship game should be about. Not just the finish but the whole game.

While I honestly think March is the best time for the tourney, I do think cbb would be better served if they moved the opening date back a month.

When Bama is playing well, I don't miss a game. If they are out of anything meaningful, I will ignore the sport.

Until March. Will watch the team with the hot hand.

I really wish I went to the game last night.

I agree that there was very little buzz for some reason, and it kept slipping my mind yesterday that there was even a game. A lot of that had to do with me being out west hiking for the entire week last week, as well as the final four being the worst final four that I can remember.

Having said that, college basketball isn't a poor product, and I love watching it for the most part. There were some epic games in the tournament this year.

The people that didn't watch last night's game missed out big time, and the joke is on them.

I wish it were more like college baseball. You can go pro out of HS,

combo of immaturity, and finding out that they were not all that great after all.

They also need to kill the one and done rule.

I remember people complaining about that UNLV, saying they were ruining the game with their 45 game winning streak and opposing coaches saying "those players need to go Pro already."

Same with Hoya Paranoia...

Everyone seems to want parity when there are dominant teams with players who stick around...(because all you can hope for is a massive upset) and then when there is total parity and nobody sticks around people pine for the stacked teams of past.
