I mean the intensity in game 7 is always crazy, just imagine what a game 8 would be like.

This guy might be on to something.

Price is a better goalie than The Queen.

Against a wildcard team that had an unprecedented winning streak due to a hot goalie that went cold against the Habs?

Next round will be his test. Can't seem to get out of the second round.....

obviously not , but you do realize who you are choosing to converse with right? An assclown who said Price wasn't vezina material. He doesn't garner a response and has no credibility here any more not that he ever did to begin with. Also probably too stupid to realize the sens were not a good matchup for us at all. Many predicted us to lose series due to those matchups and ottawa being so hot to end season. I'm glad my reverse jinx worked when i picked sens in 6.

Now, with that being said, two BIG games tonight.

HUGE game 7 for ovie and caps. Do they pull through this tough series?

Does detroit finish the upset of tampa or does it go 7? Been a great series for red wings so far.

I dont see the Isles winning tonight. THey arent experienced enough. Im happy though. They didn't lose game 6 at home for the last game ever at the Nassau Coliseum, it was a good season and they are still very young and inexperienced, they will be back in the playoffs next year and will go deeper. At long last, the immediate future is very bright for the Islanders I am pretty sure that the 22 year long nightmare for this team is finally over.

Nervous but not too nervous. Really, the Caps and Isles are evenly matched so whoever wins... fair play to 'em. But this was a year about changing the culture in DC, and I think Trotz did that. This is a mean, hard-hitting Caps squad with loads of young talent (which ins't quite there yet). It's good to shed the "soft" label.

But the next step is winning games like the one tonight, the old Caps bugaboo: Game 7. You can never pick the Caps to win a Game 7, given their history.

Also.. Halak:

Fun stat. The Caps, since they have had Ovechkin are 2-5 in game 7's.

You guys (and Stl somewhat) remind me of successful early to mid 90's Red Wings teams. They couldn't get over the hump and it looked like the window closed after losing the '95 finals, then having the Avalanche beat up the Wings in '96. Point is, the Wings were soft and probably too offensive-minded, then Scotty came in with the left wing lock and it took until year four to win it all. Gotta stay the course with Barry a few years, even if it goes bad tonight.

So jaro has kept up his dominance over the caps to a degree. I doubted it would continue. I need to look at all his stats this whole series though and not just last game.

And 1-4 before he arrived, so.... the team improved.

I should add that seven Game 7 in seven years is insane. Well, now eight in eight. By contrast, Crosby has been in the league now for 10 years and he's played in FIVE Game 7's (and is 2-3). The real problem for the Caps is not its Game 7 record, which is historically atrocious, its HOW MANY they have played in.

Well, he got lit up like a pinball machine in Game 5, so it was really just Game 6. And honestly, it wasn't the same as the Habs series, in which he was just getting blasted from all angles and he kept making spectacular saves. The Caps had some good looks, but just flat out flubbed them (I'm still pissed at Bura for whiffing on a wide open net), but Halak didn't make many highlight reel saves. He tipped a MoJo point blank shot which was his best save of the night, other than a puck bouncing off his face (the Beagle crossbar shot wasn't an official save).

Then again, Game 5 didn't feel insane in 2010 either. It wasn't until Game 6 that things got silly.

I am refusing to think about the past. No need for that negative juju out there in the hockey universe.

Let's see how my predictions went so far:

Sens in 6. Boom my reverse jinx worked
Rags in 5. Boom exactly how it went.
Tampa in 6. Wrong. Could be wings in 6 now
Caps in 6. Wrong. But could be caps in 7.

I am not sure what to think about tonight's game. On one hand you expect the Caps to just flounder. But, the Isles, well are the Isles. The one thing I do look forward to is some intensity and some craziness. Does anyone know which Refs have been assigned to this game? In the p-ast it would have been a Koharski, Price, or Van Hellemen assignment.

OK, one last depressing Cap Game 7 stat. In their last five Game 7, the Caps have scored a grand total of 7 goals. Ovi is the leading scorer with 2, tied with Laich. Backstrom has not scored a Game 7 goal since his rookie year.

We're f'n due.

Just got an update that Latta is most likely out, Glencross is in. He better play with some intensity after sitting the last 3.

I like bringing in the vet. Nothing against Latta, but he's been a total non-factor in this series. Trotz skated a GlenX-Laich-Wilson fourth line at practice. That's a fourth line that can actually score, though I think the energy line will be Bura-Beagle-Brouwer.
