But my anxiety is raised.

The fear of what I've talked about all his career is starting

I've said it since he was a rookie. I don't trust him in a 7 game series where the teams are even or a smidge better.

Hagelin with the game winner. "Mr. Crosby to the first tee."

Outplayed them badly once again. No puck luck last 2+ months of the season.

Whoever gets the Rag$ next round, gotta be licking their chops after how terrible they have looked.

I gotta say, I gained a lot of respect for the Pens fighting like that and making it close after looking like garbage the last month of the season.

Really terrific game. Pens made a game effort in the series. 4 games finish 2-1.

A lot of folks obviously had it Rangers in 5, but I don't think anyone really thought the Penguins would make it that tight.

Id say the majority of Rag$ fans in the NY area are bandwagoners. Last season i was still in the northeast and no one down there cared during the regular season, then everyone is a Rag$ fan when they were in the finals. Its a joke, and a pathetic one too. Half of them couldn't even name their captain back in 1994. Fraud fans living in a shite city.

Mike Johnston may have saved his job, getting them to play w/ some fire down when it counted and adjusting the game plan to stay competitive w/ no puck moving dmen and an obviously injured malkin.

there's obviously no moral victories, but i think they exceeded expectations considering the series matchup and roster.

Chatter here earlier in the week was that the GM would be fired / asked to resign at the end of the season.

Yeah, I've heard that, too, and I don't get it. Rutherford inherited a team in cap jail and did a pretty good job of fielding a competitive roster given the massive constraints he was under. OK, the Fleury deal is a black mark for way too much money and way too much term, but he managed to create a good defense (he didn't injure them all) and a functional third line, something the Pens haven't seen in nearly half a decade.

Not all of his moves worked out, and some were ill-advised from the get go, but I think he at least he earned a SECOND year. Now, the Pens will be on the third GM in as many season. That can't be good for the front office.

They were out-possessed in the Rangers series, but not by much, and every game was decided by a single goal. It's not an unjust result, but they certainly didn't embarrass themselves. I'd give Rutherford at least another season to actually build something instead of just scramble to put something together.
