Under the old system, I'm pretty certain it would have been Bama vs FSU, and it would have been ugly. The Playoffs just had their first redeeming moment by giving Oregon a chance to skulldrag FSU.

To the playoffs

Ask TCU how that's working out for them....This solves Nothing.

BCS standings were projected and Bama/FSU were 1/2. TCU 5th. Same guys that had the final BCS projections prior to official.

There are a few sites out there that were correctly predicting the bcs standings before they were released for the last several years. They are still doing it now. Tcu would not have been in the top 2.

Go learn yourself something.

So? Isn't the point TCU had a legit argument they should have been in instead? So the controversy isn't resolved.

No. The point of the OP is it allowed Oregon in, which they would not have been under BCS.

TCU didn't make this playoff and would have been ranked #5 if BCS was in existence.

#3 Oregon (BCS) getting in is a validation of the playoffs. The #5 (BCS) #6 (playoffs) team getting shut out is moot as they would have been shut out under any scenario.

No the point is the new system hasn't ended the controversy. It put OSU in instead of TCU. And we can see how that's turning out.

that applies in any scenario that doesn't take 100% of all eligible teams

No. The point is the new system is better than the old system, and there were lots of people that said that would not be the case.

Count me in the camp that thinks tcu was one of the 4 best teams in the country this year. However,

1. Tcu and ohio state and Florida state are all playing different teams in different games. Nothing that happens today proves what you are saying.

2. Did you not watch Baylor and mich st earlier?
