Well.....
Less coverage didn't mean he struggled, he actually caught a higher percentage of passes thrown his way. Issue was he saw less passes his way than in normal years because he was so far down totem pole for Brady.

We all know
Welker
Gronk
Hernandez
Lloyd

Would be order of passes thrown.....

Free agent WR Chad Johnson is hoping to make a comeback this season.
Johnson told CSN Houston that he wants to play for the Texans, but conceded that he’s in "no position to be picky." After being released by the Dolphins in training camp and missing all of 2012, it's unlikely that any team is willing to take on a shot on him. Johnson turned 35 this offseason and hasn't been productive since 2010.

If anyone knows how to get the most out of Brandon Lloyd, its Josh Mcdaniels.
About the only thing Josh McDaniels is/was ever good for.

Lloyd was 19th in the NFL in targets last season and 2nd on the Pats behind Welker.

eta: he averaged more than 8 targets per game

The Baltimore Sun reports the Steelers are interested in free agent DE Elvis Dumervil.
Reporter Aaron Wilson considers the Steelers a team to "keep an eye on." Dumervil has now been connected to the Steelers and Ravens since Friday's contract fiasco, and expressed interest in playing for the Dolphins. If the price is right, he'd restore the pass-rushing heat Pittsburgh lost when it cut James Harrison.

And his season with McDaniels in Denver he saw 153 targets over regular season vs 130 with NE
He saw 117 targets in 11 games with STL....

So to say he was a "bust" he still had 74 receptions and 911 yards. While seeing less passes his way, his catch percentage was also higher than in the past few seasons catching balls at a 56% clip vs 50% for normal years.

Gronk/Hernandez being out for significant time may be the factor in him being #2 as well.

There were some reports earlier this weekend that the Patriots had signed Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to an offer sheet.

Those reports were quickly rebutted by those that said no offer sheet had been extended and Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert confirmed that remains the case on Sunday. Bob Labriola of the Steelers website reports that Colbert said the team has not received an offer sheet for Sanders from anyone, which means Sanders hasn’t yet signed a deal with anyone else.

All’s been quiet on the Ahmad Bradshaw front since the Giants released the six-year veteran last month. But Bradshaw is starting to draw interest.

Both the Packers and the Steelers are interested in Bradshaw’s services, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The Patriots are in an uncertain spot with free agent tackle Sebastian Vollmer, but they added some depth to the position.

According to Field Yates of ESPNBoston.com, the Patriots have signed former Falcons tackle Will Svitek.

According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, the Raiders signed linebacker Kevin Burnett Sunday.

That’s the same Kevin Burnett the Dolphins jettisoned so they could throw a five-year, $26 million contract at former Raiders linebacker Philip Wheeler.

Long to St. Louis. Peter King implying that it won't be a bank breaker.

The Jake Long deal in St. Louis is worth up to $36 million over four years. The devil will be in the structure (which would be the details).

Amazing reality of the 2013 market ... A guard (Carl Nicks) got more last year than Jake Long got this year.

well hopefully for Long, he won't get injured like Nicks did in first season with his new team.

but I guess it wouldn't be a shocker if he did..

And now, only 4 of the Top 10 picks from the '08 draft remain with their original teams: Chris Long, Matt Ryan, Darren McFadden & Jerod Mayo

the Rams now have the #1 and #2 pick from that class on their team.

Watch out for these guys

Five days ago, reports surfaced that a deal between the Cardinals and free-agent receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs was close. We then reported that it wasn’t.

Now, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that it now is.

Per Cabot, Cribbs flew to Arizona on Sunday night to visit with the Cardinals, take a physical, and possibly sign a new contract.
