The dude would have some quality posts here if it weren't for trying to show off how big his ego/penis is about hockey - instead it comes off as the trailer park queens cursing, insulting, and ranting at each other about the last episode of Maury.

Fatty you're lucky to be a fan of the Habs you got to listen to the two best play by play commentators in the history of the game...you are also fighting a recentivist pov that's never gonna be easy even though in my opinion you're right...

ahhhhh yes, somebody with some hockey knowledge and experience has arrived!!!! Thank you sweet baby jesus!

Yes, you are correct, they are the gold standard for hockey broadcasting without a doubt, and yes both of them have won broadcasting awards as well. As a matter of fact Cole is in the broadcasting HOF.

yep. fighting ignorance and naivete and some delusion. They probably voted for obama as well. shameful indeed.

These same clowns probably think coors light is better than the northeastern USA/british pale ales and lagers. But hey, coors light won some awards!!!!!

yep, it's all these young punks know and it is sad.

The Hawks can DIAF, but you're out of your mind to bet against them. With all due respect to the Rocketards on here, they are the real clutch city.

I heard Linda Cohn on a non-ESPN radio show this morning. They wanted her on because she is such a Rags dickrider. I think she said the Rags are like 15-3 in elimination games since 2012. Anyway, I always felt Bishop was the weak link for the Lightning. I think you'd be out of mind to bet against Queen Henry in one of these games.

Doc is, quite literally, the only good thing about NBC's coverage of hockey. It's actually amazing how great of a call he can make while surrounding by so many incompetents. He has almost no supporting cast worth a damn.

Doc is a national treasure. It's a shame he's wasted sitting next to buffoons like Pierre Maguire (Brian Engblom is at least competent, but he's certainly not a great announcer).

I wished Bill Clement would get back into the national scene. He and Doc were a great team on the early days of ESPN. Also his work with Davidson was pretty good also.

My only complaint about NBC hockey coverage is Milbury. Milbury seems to take his personal vendettas on teams and players to broadcast. It is not very professional, informative, or entertaining.

I know Baloo probably likes Thorne with Clement better (homer).

I did love Gary Thorne, and listening to him do the O's games gets me annoyed because I wish he was still doing hockey. He was perfect at it. But I think Doc is even better than Thorne (and I agree about Clement, I miss him). Thorne is a little over-exciteable, but that's part of his charm. If I could promote anyone, I wish NBC would use Razor Reaugh more. He does color on the Stars games, and he's terrific: funny, astute, and able to clearly communicate. The Stars usually win reader polls in Dallas as having the best local sports coverage which is amazing, considering where the Stars rank in the Dallas sports heirarchy.

On to the Game 7's...

I give up. I love Big Brother. I'm rooting for what's best for the NHL: a Blackhawks-Rangers series. Two Original Six teams in huge media markets, both two of the most well-run organizations in the sport. I'd love to root for the underdog, but... frick Corey Perry.

And the Bolts already have a Stanley Cup (that they didn't earn), so I can't root for the disinterested fans of Tampa to win another one. Let's go classic franchises.

Pretty sure I heard Doc is on both Game 7's. I guess Fatty will be watching CBC. My only problem with Doc is he gets riled up on routine shots, so almost every other play sounds like a close scoring chance.

This could get ugly very quickly.

TSN Article

“Shanahan’s testimony cannot be obtained by any practical alternative means because he refuses to appear voluntarily for his deposition.”
A group of 60 former NHL players including Joe Murphy, Bernie Nicholls and Gary Leeman charge that the NHL knew or ought to have known from medical and scientific research that head trauma suffered by NHL players put them at a significantly greater risk for developing long-term brain disorders.
