Have you paid attention to Al Jefferson this year? He has been going ham since mid January.

Yeah. Because Shaq and Gasol obviously can win championships without a star guard...

Kobe was an all time great player. Lebron these last 3 years has been better than Kobe ever was. These are facts. Please stop arguing them

I didn't even mention Kobe.

This is actually a textbook example of an opinion. Do you know what these words mean?

Wasn't talking to you was talking to thread as a whole. You were just the last poster. Obviously they aren't facts in the same sense that 2+2=4 is a fact. But they're as much a fact as you can have when discussing who's better. Like saying Jordan was better than Barkley is by definition an opinion, but by all watchers of basketball is considered a fact

Actually it's been like 6 years, but whatever. I don't really feel like having this argument anymore.

I don't think many people actually thought this. He was having the better season though.

The MVP race is pretty dead even at this point. It should be fun to see how it plays out.

I was willing to entertain the possibility at least. The idea of arguing that Lebron>Durant when Durant was having the better season kinda stuck in my craw as hugely unfair. I mean if you ignore the actual games played you are left with empty opinions.

The last couple weeks have changed things tho. Now Lebron is turning it on again (playing close to the level he has played the years prior) and Westbrook returning will eventually end up costing Durant enough extra possessions etc that his numbers will probably come down a bit more.

MJ>LeBron>Kobe>Durant

MJ>LeBron is the smallest gap (and isn't set in stone)

Kobe>Durant is the largest gap, but KD has time.

I mean as it sits right now Durant's numbers are still objectively better than LeBron's and Durant is still "having the better season" statistically.

LeBron is the 2 time defending champ. I don't care if he averages slightly fewer points and rebounds. Stats are not all that matter. I mean you see what the dude is capable of.

I don't care about MVPs.
That's a popularity contest. I was just saying LeBron is still the best player in the league (and is regardless of whether or not he wins the MVP).
