LeBron is on top of the basketball world

Everyone agrees LeBron is the best player in the world right now

Why must people continue to say that like everyone else is disagreeing?

Every time someone criticizes him you get atleast 3 or 4 responses saying " he's the best player in the world". It's ok, the best player in the world can still be criticized

His fans make it easy to hate him. Anytime he does something good you have 10 page threads with people posting shite like GOAT, LEGOAT, etc.

I said the same thing earlier in this same thread...

I don't dislike LeBron James, but his fans are the sole reason I pull against the heat

And if you're a fan of another player, that take that as you thinking LeBron isn't the best player right now. Every time I tell someone I'm a KD fan, they always respond with "yea, but LeBron is the goat". Every damn time

There's a lot of that both ways. The long-time Kobe and now Durant fans dislike Lebron because they dislike someone else talking up another player as better. There are obviously a lot of fair-weather fans who root for the best players when they had no prior rooting interest but... the amount of hate directed at him and the amount of schadenfreude people took when he failed against the Mavs a couple years ago was insane to watch.

He's probably the best player in the world right now. He could stand to improve his free throw shooting and I wish he'd stop with the flopping nonsense but he's debatably played at a higher level over the last seven years than anyone not named MJ, Wilt, Kareem, and perhaps Shaq ever enjoyed in their careers (all of whom also had areas of their games which could have been improved).

I love that Durant is giving him a run for his money right now FWIW. He's about four years younger than Lebron so the next few years are really a special opportunity for fans of the game (rather than fans of either player) to enjoy seeing them go back and forth. For that reason I'd probably enjoy seeing them split the next few championships. Undoubtedly the internet will be unbearable whenever Lebron comes up short but overall that would make for a more interesting legacy than LJ winning something like four or five straight championships.
