You may have not listed what can be arguably the greatest overall player ever Kareem

Best HS Player ever.
Best NCAA player ever.
Top 5 NBA player ever.

I think he was in his first 13 years...

3x NBA Champion
13x All-Star
6x MVP
Finals MVP
9x First Team All NBA and 4x 2nd Team All NBA

----------------------------------------------------------
Kareem is probably a top 5-top 10 of all time. But Bill Walton probably was the best college player ever. And Pete Maravich set a scoring record in three years that will never, ever, ever be touched. And that's with a three point line and teams playing far more games.

Yeah as soon as I submitted I realized I left off Kareem...even though I think he's #2 ever... and has a strong case for #1

Lebron is in a very strange category where he already blew away everybody not named Jordan for the #2 spot, but he'd have to play semi-godly basketball for the next 5 years to pass MJ.

Disagree respectfully. Walton is probably top 5, I would say he is below

Kareem
Sampson
Thompson
Maravich

Grantland has Maravich at 2 and Walton at 3 with Kareem at 1.

You left off the most important stat -

Bill Russell - 35 years old at the end of his 13th season

Michael Jordan - 35 years old at the end of his 13th season

Bill Russell - 35 years old at the end of his 13th season

Kareem Abdul-Jabaar- 35 years old at the end of his 13th season

Larry Bird - 35 years old at the end of his 13th season

Tim Duncan - 34 years old at the end of his 13th season

Shaq - 33 years old at the end of his 13th season

LeBron - 31 years old at the end of his 13th season

FWIW, only Kareem and Russell played in an era when going from high school directly to the pros was against the rules.

Age is irrelevant. Only seasons played. If you have an arguement for age over seasons when using awards and achievements won while playing pro basketball to measure greatness please share.
