I have a tendency to get steep and hit fat shots. Its really frustrating.

Consistency off the tee and even when I'm driving straight I lack distance.

This. I have a really solid pitching and putting game, but get really pissed at the mid wedge shots. No consistency.

Getting through the first three holes waiting for the beers to kick in. Pretty solid playing starts between beers 3 and 4.

I have a solution to that. Drink a couple BEFORE the round!

Not trying to be funny either. I think I start to relax and playing more loose.

I agree. I play best after a couple beers.

It's been iron play for years. But a device I bought called the TourStriker has greatly enhanced that part of my game. Thanks for asking.

Also I have trouble not hitting full shots into greens. And I hit my 56 and 60 the same distance.

Like BP said, if you're taking it inside on the takeaway, the natural tendency is to come over the ball on the downswing. This begins by either casting the club or body movement in transition.

We video'd my friends swing the other day. And it was insane how flat he was and that caused him to loop up during transition and come over the top.

He has been striking the ball, though.

Chipping. I've tried everything. Main problem is not left and right. It's long and short.
I average 5 double chips per round. I have even done a few triple chips this year. I have a much better chance of getting on the green by swinging a 9 iron from 100 yards out.

For some reason, I spray about 2 shots a round bad left. Usually one drive and at least one iron shot into a green. It's like OB bad left.

Driving distance is #1. I used to hit it pretty good but while everybody else hits it longer now with the new clubs and balls, I hit it shorter.

#2 would have to be bunker play. I used to be really good out of the bunker but recently I'm struggling. I did hole one the other day though so maybe that will help get my confidence up.

On the first chip I de-accelerate and go from 10 yards off the green to 3 yards off the green.

Then I get pissed and chip it too hard and land 10 yards off the opposite side of the green.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

I've used a pitching wedge, 9, 8, 7, 6 irons and 3 wood with a putting motion. Nothing works.

So you chip twice, not double-chip.

A double chip is when you hit it twice with one swing...

Use a 58* or 60*. There are some guys on here who can hit it from 50 yards to 140 yards. Its all about feel.

Correct. I've never struck the ball twice with one stroke. I simply need 2 or 3 chips to get on the green from 20 yards away.

Honestly, I play my best when I'm distracted and not thinking about my round. The 30 seconds I get in my routine and focused is about all the concentration I use. And really, that's all you need.

Agreed. But mine has more to do with losing interest than getting distracted.
