Time to continue watching how low Ozuna can drive his BA down

We can get down to .068 with a classic 0-4 tonight.

Can't wait until this is our lineup:

Acuna
Harris
Riley
Olson
Murphy
Albies
d'Arnaud
Grissom/Rosario/Hilliard
Arcia

NO. I can't get behind hoping Ozuna fails. It hurts the team.

I hope he hits a 2-run dinger tonight and I always hope the Braves play well and win.

A better thing to hope for -

Hilliard keeps on hitting and impressing. Rosario keeps hitting and that Harris comes back to his high level.

We also want Travis and Arcia back soon. And for them to play well. THEN - we can DFA Ozuna.

They are not going to take Olson out of the 2-hole, no matter the struggles.

For better or for worse, AA wants him to be Freddie.

how much goodwill do think AA has built up now? If this team does not make it to the WS this year, I wonder how much longer will AA get to stay here

Depends on how the postseason goes. If they get curbstomped in the NLDS to a division rival for a second straight year, there will be some pressure on Snit and AA.

They've both been a net positive so far.

ETA: Lol at the downvotes on a very lukewarm take that ended with me saying AA and Snit are a net positive.

It's April and we're still getting it done regardless of the black hole he creates in the lineup. They'll DFA him after he reaches his service time in May, and then we'll never have to think of that POS again.

He isn't good anymore, so why not let him show us just how bad, bad can get. The Braves are still going to be a great team this year, might as well have some fun with how shitty he's become

The team is keeping butts in seats and, more importantly for ownership, at the battery. He is clearly doing Liberty Media's bidding by not spending on even long tenured and beloved players if they hit UFA and want a long term deal. It would take 5 years of obvious decline and missing on pretty much every acquisition for them to consider cutting bait.

The Atlanta Braves big hat is no longer. New Era has called and shut it down. They are the exclusive on field hat for Major League Baseball.. #bighat #rip

Ozuna has a -1 WAR for the season already in only 55 at bats. Holy shite. It also still cracks me up that he won a Gold Glove. I know he used to be a significantly better defender than he is now (shoulder surgery does seem to have really fricked up his throwing arm), but that is still unreal.

I really think they are waiting for the day next month(I'm not sure of the exact day)where Ozuna hits 10 years of service time and is eligible for his lifetime MLB pension. Then they will DFA him.

By then Harris will be back and TDA should either be back or very close.

I get why New Era put the kabosh on the hat, but they can still EABOD.

We are less than two years from a WS title and have won the division every year he’s been here. This kind of thinking is comical and idiotic at the same time.

That’s pretty crazy. I thought the quote about his batting average not being legally intoxicated was pretty good.

Just checked some other WARs on baseball reference.

Freddie Freeman—0.4
Matt Olson—0.6

Shea Langeliers—0.0
William Contreras—0.9
Sean Murphy—1.2
Travis D’Arnaud—0.1(only 33 ABs)

Ronald Acuna, Jr.—1.5
Sam Hilliard—0.9
Ozzie Albies—0.7
Austin Riley—0.6

Spencer Strider—1.3
